Beater for 2 to 3k?

I need a reliable car for about 2 or 3 thousand dollars for the winter months.

Let me know if you guys have some input on what I should buy...

How about a 4th gen Camaro? A V6 is definitely within that price range.

I bought me a 1999 Blazer for my daily beater. Paid $2800. Great little vehicle. Had to keep it GM you know. :chevy:

I know it's not an answer to the question you asked, but the Camaro is really good in the snow if you put on some winter tires.

If I had to (and the free cash on hand) I'd go for a CUCV K5 blazer or K20 pickup. Most go for 3-5K with around 85-90K miles on them. Diesel, military maintained, bare bones, and damn near bullet proof.

Granted it's not turbocharged but it's still a Detroit Diesel. The one on our dump outlived the trans it's mated to. Just can't kill that thing.

I've got an 88 Supra with only 60k on the clock I'll sell to you! :D

Yeah good point and you'll be posting "Paint Chip "(insert body part)" threads" after the winter lol

I got my 05 ENVOY with new tires to rip through my AK winter lol

Not a single chip on mine driven all last winter with Michigan salty roads.

If you don't want a 4wd SUV, get a Subaru. Since I see you're in North Jersey, you're going to want the 4wd or AWD and probably not fwd.
