More track testing footage from the Nürburgring..

This one shows the Z28 moving over for a fast moving Lexus. I think he had to let a couple other cars including a convertible to pass?

Love to see more video. Looks like it handles the twisty's pretty well. Fingers crossed on whic engine and price point.

nick at night 10-17-2010 04:42 PM

BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet 10-17-2010 04:48 PM

cts-v coupe. . .hmmmmmmmm are they refining or testing the Z against the cts-v coupe? interesting. . .

codo 10-17-2010 06:46 PM

cant wait...but hurry up and give some official word!

DroptopZ 10-17-2010 08:15 PM

Interestingly enough, anyone notice the tails on that yellow Camaro there? They look very similar to the existing ones but connect in-between almost like a pair of sunglasses...

Or it could just be my eyes playing tricks on me as I get older... lol.

Jose 10-17-2010 08:45 PM

Sorry for the question, but why is the Camaro painted like that, black and white suqares?

z/28 limited edition color. They'll all come like that, with the base color (black in this picture) on the doors being an adjustable option.

ever heard of camouflage?

SS-screamer 10-17-2010 09:15 PM

I like the zebra but would prefer a idfferent animal print, maybe cheetah.

I'm getting my doors IOM. That'll really set off the Z28 checker scheme. Gonna look sweet!!!

That does seem to be an export model with the sun glass rear tail light assembly on top of the hill at the gm compound.

What better way to ensure that the Z/28 is a world class sport coupe...and GT500 snake charming american muscle car.:happyanim:

GM already has the world class bench mark in the CTS-V:bow:, might as well use what you got and improve upon it.

radz28 10-18-2010 10:08 AM

That LFA sounded pretty good!

I think that's my favorite video so far! So much more sound and though it looks pretty similar to earlier videos, these are from different angles.

GREAT FIND and thanks for sharing!!! :D

SSmoked 10-18-2010 11:29 AM

^yea the LFA sound like a F1 car.
so the cts-v coupe does 12.2 in the 1/4 @ 117.5mph , 0-60 in 4.2 secs, 60-0 in 107ft, and skid pad at .90g's. and basicly weights in 100-200lbs heaveir. should be intersting to see the difference will be between the Z and V. theres a weight difference and from what i understand the chasis platforms are different.

2011RS/SS 10-20-2010 01:13 AM

sweet sounding music right there... Should be a beast for sure. Thankfully, my CTS-V is already modded to hold them off until they do the same thing I did :D

LEADfoot927 10-20-2010 06:34 AM

I would have smashed the throttle down when I saw that LFA coming. If the Z28 has closer to 600 hp it may have had a shot.

As much as I'd like to think the OP could be onto something, I have to respectfully agree; that car weighs, what, 3300 pounds or something significantly lighter than SS and makes tons more power. I don't think it's as big as the automotive press have made it out to be, and I'd still have ZR1 over it any day, but, unfortunately, Zed has no chance, lol. I'd still take Zed without even needing a bit of thought before the LFA. It's just not me :D:burnrubber::chevy:

Wolverine - I believe that's still my favorite video; thanks for sharing :D

I wouldnt say tons more power. The LFA makes around 550 hp, 390 ft lb torque and weight around 3450. If the Z28 makes around 600 hp there would be a close power to weight ratio.

 You're right  I was thinking SS when I was posting that :bonk::emoticon12::suicide: Wouldn't Z have to be making close to ZR1 power though? Still - I maintain it's not going to be supercar quick - as much as I'd love it to be :D

91Z28350 10-20-2010 03:54 PM

A car that could very likely be sub 4 second 0-60 and high 11's 1/4 mile isn't super car quick? Even if it is 12 and 4 respectively, it is matching the tested specs of a Gallardo. Pretty super to me.

SS-screamer 10-20-2010 03:59 PM

What nobody is talking about is that this video is actually a compilation of several videos. In one part of it the road is damp and it is overcast and slightly foggy. In other parts of the video it is partly sunny and not foggy. One part the passenger is wearing a helmet, another part no helmet. Prior to pulling into the bay after the run we see the car from behind from being tailed (different video) by the photog. In this video we have a view from the front when it pulls into the bay with no tailing car.

Nothing ground breaking here other than to say they are working this car alot on the track to get it just right to give us the best performance possible. I can't wait.

As much as CAMARO is my undisputed favorite car, it is NOT a supercar. As much as I love Corvette, it is barely a supercar (the ZR1). A supercar, to me, is a Ferrari, Lambo', Gumpert, etc. I'm talking top-notch technology from top-to-bottom, from inside out. I'm talking leather dashboard coverings, allacantra inserts, carbon fiber bodys (not fenders, roofs, hoods, etc.). ZR1 is a supercar by it's performance, IMVHO.

Personally - I don't need a supercar. What I believe Z28 is going to achieve is plenty; and what I'll be adding will make it exactly what I want, without even getting close to Aston Martin prices. Even if I had the money - I'd have my Z28 and ZR1 before any Koenigsegg or the like. They're too much flash and dazzle. I want a car that's going to kick another car in it's b@lls - not one that's going to distract it with some glitter and whatever.

That's just me.

Been there - said that.
