The inaugural SEMA hot vehicle awards will be handed out during the show in early November.

DIAMOND BAR, California Organizers say the Chevrolet Camaro is the "outstanding leader" in the race for "hottest car" honors at the 2010 SEMA Show. The inaugural SEMA hot vehicle awards will be handed out during the show, which runs November 2-5.

"The outstanding leader in the hottest car category is the Chevy Camaro, followed by the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger," said show organizers in a statement this week. Also-rans are the Audi A4, Ford Fiesta, Honda CR-Z, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Soul, Lexus IS, Mazda 2, Scion tC and Subaru Impreza.

In the lead for hottest truck is the Ford F-Series, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado. The two are beating out the Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra.

SEMA organizers say the best 4x4 SUV category is a "tight" race, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee taking the early lead, "followed closely by the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Explorer."

SEMA show exhibitors will choose the three outstanding vehicles. In the meantime, the public can vote for its favorites to qualify to win a VIP trip for two to the 2011 SEMA Show. The voting ends on November 1. Votes can be cast on the SEMA Facebook Page or at SEMA's Web site.

I just wonder why SEMA chose the pic of the 'Camaro' that is actually dressed up like a Firebird? Doesn't seem right to me! :)

Perhaps they chose the Firebird pic to show how far it can go??

And wtf?? No Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade but they called the Outback a 4x4 SUV??

See, i told everyone it wasnt all about who's the fastest ^_^
The Camaro just has this aura to it, its hard to explain, its not just another car like the Mustang, even if its faster with the 5.0, the Camaro is an entity, a celebrity, a symbol of both America and this generation. Its so much more than just a performance car

truth. the looks have to be taken into consideration big time. if the ONLY thing we cared about was going fast we'd go get motorcycles.

voted! I'm partial to Camaros but it's nice to see all three american icons back in the game. The aftermarket wasn't kind in the past and it seems now that companies are recognizing the need satisfy our thirst for nice things...and fast things also.:thumbup::D

What I thought was SPAM via my Cardomain page was actually from SEMA, as they wanted to use VETERAN1 for that image ! Would have got an additional 2 passes from SEMA if I allowed them to use the image.......

And when I did respond, they had already invited Veteran1 as a VIP car :D

And if you register / vote on SEMA's facebook, you have a chance to WIN 2 tickets and round trip airfare for casting your vote......For the 2011 SEMA SHOW

 Exactly. I don't think we've enjoyed this much aftermarket support for who knows how long. I'm not old enough to relate to the 3rd Gen, but aside from powetrain support, there wasn't too much. I'm very happy to see this new support :D
