My sister found this great photo of my Mom and Dad and gave it to me for my birthday. That's my Dad's brand new 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza. This photo was taken shortly before they were married (thus Grandma's watchful gaze in the background) in Monrovia, CA. Dad loved that car but he had to give it up when the kids came along (my bad). The story is that my Mom thought my Dad must have been rich to be able to afford such a sweet ride.

Great photo Beemer. Did your sister give you a hard copy or a file? If you'd like I can clean it up, remove the few spots and scratches. PM me if you'd like.

I calls 'em as I sees 'em...Ladies back then were LADIES! They wore dresses and took pride in being pretty...much classier then than they are now...I wish I'd been born 30 years earlier..

great picture!

My wife's parents thought I was rich because I owned a house as a single guy. But I just wanted an attached garage :iono: But now they know that the house made me poor :P

Yea its called Old age. :sm0:
Live every day like it was your last as you never know what will happen so enjoy life now and go for it. Remember to tell the ones you love that you love them everyday, and forgive and forget the a**holes in your life as life is too short to carry a grudge.

Like the OP I also saw a picture of my Mom and Dad when they were young and thought she was one great looking lady, and he was one cool looking SOB. :D

I have all them cool memories tucked away, and now all I have to do is remember where I put them.

RJNavarrete 02-24-2011 04:52 PM

CrzyGamr2 02-24-2011 04:56 PM

My dad has a 64 Corvair Spider Convertible in the garage. He dropped a valve seat so it's not running at the moment but it's a nice car. :)

ssmike 02-24-2011 05:03 PM

Wow, my parents had a new Corvair when I was about 3 or 4! I remember climbing into the small cubby behind the back seat under the rear window whenever we went for a ride! Brings back memories. Uh oh, I think I just dated myself....ugh!
