best mods for a V6 w/o breaking the bank

what are the best mods for a camaro with out going broke in the process.
the current "mods" i have is only 5% tinted windows and a K&N cooler air-intake. anything else i can do to make my car faster? without getting a turbo / supercharger b/c i dont have $5000 laying around

thanks for the help

well you could do an exhaust, either a cat-badck or full....

but since you have an RS, I HIGHLY recommend you get your headrests embroidered. Here is the link to the thread. I did it.....and even the guys at the dealer said it looks like it was done at the factory, and should have by GM!

Solo Performance MACH X-LLT

PoorMansCamaro 02-28-2011 04:32 PM

get some suspension stuff. Drop her an inch. Get trailing arms. they will prevent wheel hop. Better tires...All those are faily inexpensive.

How about doing something to save your engine ????
Get yourself a oil catch can

My favorite mod is the Magnaflow cat back, about $1000 installed.

I like my suspension mods too, but they were expensive.

I just ordered the RX catch can. They can color match your car.

True that! I did the same, and took the resonators off of mine. 788.00 installed. Sound has a nice deep roar to it.

Air inake & oil catch can: best low cost. Exhaust (axle back for lower cost) would be next for performance mods. Fender flares will save your paint & low cost, easy to install. Apperance: how about a custom bow tie? For a little more $ maybe a Heritage grill? Just my 2 cents.

It doesn't matter. Basically, they separate the oil vapors in your engines air so that you don't get carbon build up, or just generally have oil in places it shouldn't be. I'm not an expert on it or anything, but SC2150 is and was very helpful in teaching me about them. Just do a search on here for oil catch cans and you'll get a plethora of information. (btw, SC2150 is who sells the RX can, which I also have installed) If you're interested, here's the link: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109416

What about an ss conversion kit? I would like to see pics of this if anyone has done it

Camaro8810 03-01-2011 10:05 AM

CAI and Exhaust are on my short list as well. I just cant decide on which one to go with first. If tint were legal here in NJ i'd already have jumped on that a long time ago. Still debating on whether or not to just do it anyway. I see plenty of drivers around here with tint. But of course, I will be the one to get pulled over for it.
