Fieri Replaces Stolen Lamborghini With ‘Bitchin’ Camaro’

Attachment 225147

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A celebrity chef whose bright-yellow Lamborghini was stolen from a San Francisco car dealership last month has apparently gotten a yellow Chevrolet Camaro to replace it.

Guy Fieri, a chef who has hosted several TV shows including “Guy’s Big Bite” on the Food Network and “Minute to Win It” on NBC, had his Lamborghini stolen early the morning of March 8 from a British Motor Car Distributors dealership on Van Ness Avenue. As CBS 5 repoted last month, other customers of the dealership have complained of security issues.

Police said the thief rappelled down from the roof of the building, entered through a window, then drove away in Fieri’s 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo convertible, a car priced at more than $200,000.

Surveillance videos investigators obtained from the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin County town of Tiburon show the Lamorghini driving by, but the car has not been found, SFPD Officer Albie Esparza said.

With the Lamborghini possibly lost forever, Fieri apparently replaced it with another flashy car – a yellow Camaro convertible.
Fieri posted a picture of the car on his Twitter page over the weekend with the caption, “Bitchin’ Camaro…thanks to my bruthas at Chevy! First yellow conv off tha line!”

Neither Fieri nor his public relations firm was available Thursday morning to comment on the new car or the stolen one.
Anyone with information about the stolen Lamborghini is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.

First of all, i Love Guy. Big fan.

I hate that happened to him but.

If i were stepping down from Italian to GM, i would have definately gone with a ZR1

He will probably buy one of those too when it comes out.

I'm sure a fully loaded ZL1 won't put a dent in his pocket. :headbang:

While that is 100% true...

THIS is a ZR1

I may be a Ford man but Ford has nothing that can compete with that bad boy.. Its one of my "dream" cars.

cab2g 04-07-2011 03:15 PM

Chevrolet probably offered him the Camaro for publicity. Let's be honest. Camaro = 40k Lambo = 200k. That won't be his only new car purchase with the lambo money I'm willing to bet.

Either way, it's great publicity, but C'mon. You don't go from a 200k car to a 40k car. You buy both.

RubyCamaro 04-07-2011 03:16 PM

VERY cool. I like Guy. :w00t:

SolarFlare 04-07-2011 03:17 PM

I knew that! ahaha

I read it too fast!

My mistake. Thanks!

He seems to like Camaros. He always drives a 67 or 68 convertible on diners, drive ins and dives. Seems like a cool guy.

Cam2011 04-07-2011 03:38 PM

I am suspect to his claim that is the first RY camaro off the line.

SSBUSDRVR 04-07-2011 03:39 PM

He can afford any car he wants so good for him.He probably truely likes the Camaro. Sat a couple of seats over from him and Tyler Florence at the SB in Tampa. He seemed like he genuinely enjoyed the moment taking time to sign autographs and taking pictures with fans before the game instead of blowing fans off like some other Celebs there.
There was a great article a few months back in Maxim(yeah I get it to read the articles.) Who the Fork is Guy Fieri? You can find it online.
A little excerpt:
“Fieri Compound” and find the magic: a garage stocked with cars and trucks that’d make even the most casual motorhead pop the trunk in his pants. Guy’s Lambo is out getting the lights smoked, but his ’65 Shelby Cobra is there, along with a flame-painted golf cart, a ’76 CJ5 Jeep, a ’68 Pontiac Firebird, and his beloved ’71 Chevelle, which he purchased long before he was anything close to being rich. (To buy the $28,000 demon, he scrounged together $21,000 and promised the owner $7,000 in free meals and a job for his son.)

This is what makes me think it was a promotion from Chevy. No way this guy took the time to be the first person to pre-order a yellow Vert. Somebody at Chevy pulled some strings.

Linker239 04-07-2011 07:09 PM

That's no theif that's a ninja

lil_red_v6 04-07-2011 07:18 PM

I thought he also owned a 67 convertable also?.

MikeL 04-07-2011 07:29 PM

While I'm sure he got the car from chevy as a promotional thing, I do remember reading a LONG time ago on C5 how a guy who was fortunate to be able to own several $200k+ cars loved his new Camaro the most. It is possible he just loves the new Camaro and contacted GM (or GM contacted him). Very cool though, another Camaro happily on the road.

Yep, love that show and Guy seems like a super chef! Maybe he'll do some taping for Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives in his new Yeller ride. That would be sweet to see.

The camaro is one of the nicest "cheap" (i say that relatively of course) cars u can get. yes, ppl complain about stuff, but it really is. u get a lot for your money. and if i had enough money for a lambo, id just buy about 8 different kinds of camaros! (and maybe a ZR1) :D
