logan1080 03-01-2009 04:18 PM

why mod out a v6 when u can spend the extra cash and get a v8

CamaroSpike23 03-01-2009 04:22 PM

long tube header system w/ x-pipe (V-8 only)
1.85 high ratio rocker arms (V-8 only)
25% underdrive pully/ balancer
performance-optimized custom PCM tunes

camaropete 03-01-2009 04:27 PM

That hood looks wicked! I can't wait to see that in real-life.

JMAN311 03-01-2009 04:33 PM

Cool. I called SLP a few months ago and they had yet to get a test mule but were def. gonna be putting out mods for it. Nice to see a list of things just as I expected from them.

tylermoore 03-01-2009 04:37 PM

Count me in on the SLP longtubes, cat back and dove tail if it will be painted to match

maybe one day the supercharger

ArcAngel 03-01-2009 04:39 PM

Because some of us just want to make our V6 a little quicker and don't want all the craziness of the v8's brembos and gas costs

zebra 03-01-2009 04:39 PM

well if you wanna go quicker, you're gonna need brake upgrades!

Alot of people probably would rather spend 23K for a car and add a few grand in mods to give it a bit more zip than spend 31K+ for a car and not spend money on mods. $6,000 difference by the time you do some mods to a V6 is quite a bit more "extra cash".

Huh? Brakes make you GO faster? I had no idea. :sm0:

Who was the guy who brought the car down? I didn't catch his name. And if I heard him right did he say all the sold orders were shooting for a possible June or July finish date. I was there at 1:15 and left at about 1:45 I was in a rush and missed some info. I did get to sit in it and check it out though!!!

1320junkie 03-01-2009 05:22 PM

mmhmmmmm nice

ArcAngel 03-01-2009 05:23 PM

Depends you add lets say 50- 100 hp and maybe 30-70 lb ft you wont need brakes redone and or suspension, but these add ons will maybe knock the 5.8 to 5.2 5 sec 0-60 etc etc ...so brakes arent a definate

I dont like the stripes on left front fender. This is a Camaro SS, NOT a Challenger RT.

That style of stripe is actually derived from Gran Sport stripes most notably used on Corvettes in the early 90's. The Challenger may have been copying someone. But I agree, they're distasteful for the Camaro.

I anticipate seeing the Ducktail spoiler myself, hopefully it's a little more reminiscent of a true 1969 Camaro spoiler than GM's current offerings. The grille sounds interesting too.

This car NEEDS the Chevy bow ties to be RED, the gold color looks bad.

yotaman96 03-01-2009 06:41 PM

The hood will look out of place with the mailslot.
