of my brand new 1978 Camaro. Went all out. No A/C, no Power Windows or Door Locks, and no radio. Although I did have them install the antenna in the windshield ahead of time. All for the total cost of $4840.00. I just paid more for my 65" Samsung.

xlroadster 06-23-2011 09:14 PM

$4840 in 1978 = $16800 in 2011....still a bargain!

We had one in brown (don't laugh) that looked alot like yours. Had the dealer install a sunroof.

Not sure about the garage since that was not my house but the photo was taken in good old Newark NJ back in 1978. Congratulations on being the first person to ask such a relevant question.

Hicompression 06-23-2011 11:03 PM

My first car was a 1981 Camaro with a 267 Cubic Inch V8. Last of the 2nd gen body style. What a POS that car was!

That's pretty cool that you're still a Camaro guy. Chevy runs DEEP

SSGUNNER 06-24-2011 02:14 AM

Awesome pic.

dcarlos55 06-24-2011 03:07 AM

This was my first Camaro. Bought it at the ripe old age of 20 in 1975. Too bad we didn't have better cameras back then.

I had a '79 Firebird Esprit. 301 V8. 150 horsepower. It did have a rear spoiler:laugh: And the whitewall tires. I still have dreams about that car. I miss it. I do remember wishing it was a 400 Trans Am with 210 massive horsepower and the Screaming Chicken on the hood.

Me too, but it doesn't seem that long ago when I thought black and white photos were old. Where does the time go? :)
