EXFLIRT gets her 2012 45th Anniversary Camaro

Featured on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.

So I was driving in Orange and decided to stop by Selman Chevrolet and see my buddy Tommy Edrisi (one of the better Camaro Salesman you'll ever meet). As I walk in the show room, I see a Callaway Camaro that was at SEMA last year as well as a Synergy Edition SS and a Synergy Edition LT. Tommy then sees me and tells me that they just received a 45th Anniversary Convertible that belongs to a Camaro5 member. I told him that I think that this might be the first 45th Anniversary in California. I asked him who it was and he tells me that she goes by ExFlirt.

I met ExFlirt at the OC Auto Show last year so it's pretty cool that I get to see her car first. I asked him if he would let me take pictures of the car so that ExFlirt can have them in her car journal. It's a very beautiful car and I'm sure it would look much better once it's washed and detailed.

Congratulations ExFlirt! :headbang::thumbup:

Just email me so I can send you the originals.

And now the pictures ....

I've seen the plans for this car, I have a feeling this is going to be a very special as well as a very elegant car.
Congratulations ExFlirt, enjoy her, love her and take good care of her.

HashimAzzouz 08-17-2011 08:14 AM

for the 5th hundred time now.. I don't like the new steering wheel.. I like the new flash Metallic color it's amazing.. but the new steering wheel sucks.. I show it to the dealer yesterday here in Jeddah he was shocked.. he said this won't sell here in Saudi.. It's like a cruz wheel.. very disappointed..I asked him to stop processing my 2011 IOM 2SS but after I saw the 2012 steering wheel I asked to proceed..

The new steering wheel actually looks really good in person and is more comfortable and user friendly than the older design. One of the biggest criticism of the old wheel was that it looked and felt awkward. Guess what, it sold almost 250,000 copy's, all attached to Camaros. It will sell.

Thanks everyone, I'm EXCITED! G, I am so jealous that you got to take all these pictures of my car before I even get to see it! ;) Friday can't come soon enough :happyanim: I've been waiting a year and a half for this car, so I'm gonna put some miles on her over the weekend

I figure if I can't appreciate the overwhelmingly positive and fun qualities the Camaro has, but instead get hung up on a steering wheel I would have designed a bit differently, I've got bigger problems to deal with.

Jeez, everyone, relax.

And I've never seen so many people complain about a steering wheel. I drove a Cruze and wasn't a huge fan of the wheel. I'll be way too busy flooring the gas pedal, feeling the wind through my hair, and drifting around corners to even remember the steering wheel's there!

Jeez, it's just a steering wheel. Everyone get over it already. It's not as if they gave it the Cruze engine ...

Especially if you get an SS, you won't notice the steering wheel after you press the gas pedal.

Congrats EXFLIRT. Nice ride. :w00t:

Camaro5 family, I'd like to officially introduce Lyssa, named after the goddess of rage and fury, on her way to becoming a fierce firebreather.

From what we've been able to determine, she is the first 45th in California. She was built on 8.4, delivered to the dealer on 8.15 at 2:00 am during the night drop, and will be delivered to me on 8.19 at 10:00 am by the wonderful Tommy Edrisi at Selman Chevrolet (thank you, Tommy!) Thank you, also, to Becky - I could not have made it through with my hair intact without her to ease my anxiety with her status updates and calm words of wisdom! :thanks:

Over the next few days, Lyssa will undergo a special new car prep/detail. Details by Pic will be cleaning her up, Chips Away will be installing her clear bra, and We Do Windows will take care of that clear glass and give me some protection and privacy.

My very special 45th will be highlighted in several install features as she gets upgraded for this year's SEMA show, with these articles to be followed by a full piece later on. To all the purists out there, the original parts will be retained if there is ever a need to put her back to stock.

To everyone who helped with the car or who helped me emotionally, thank you so very much. I've been waiting for this car since March 8th of last year, when my confirmed one-of-a-kind, loaded, pristine, low-mileage 35th SS Convertible was rear-ended at a high rate of speed while I was stopped on the freeway. After 18 months of driving a four-cylinder with an automatic, I can't wait for some horsepower mated to a manual transmission! :burnrubber:

urr2slo 08-17-2011 12:36 PM

I'm sure she's going to be a sweet ride, cant wait to see it finished.

carfansince73 08-17-2011 12:36 PM

Nice car!!!

In pic 15, is the trunk lid open...? The lower edge under the SS badge doesn't line up.

My builder has assured me she's gonna be "a sweet ride" and I can't wait to see her - finshed or not!

But I agree, I am soooooooooooooo excited to see the final version.

Oh, BTW Camaro5 family, my wheels are so amazingly awesome... and sexy. I never thought I'd say this about a wheel, but they make me think nasty thoughts! :confused0068: I can't wait until they get on the car so I can show them off.

LAWMAN 08-17-2011 12:46 PM

:chevy:Congrats, and im sure you will have loads of fun with your new ride!
