I envy his collection. If I could just have ONE of his cars, I'd be a happy girl!

ssmike 10-17-2011 08:06 AM

Wow! Great video! Jay is a lucky guy to have had the oportunity to drive the actual car that ran the Ring! Way to go Jay!

BVaughan77 10-17-2011 08:09 AM

Of course Jay Leno has this car. I wonder how many cars he has now? Fastest car under $75K....the corvette Z06 must be the next fastest?

Rice Killer 10-17-2011 08:39 AM

That was a great watch!

I believe the base price of the Z06 for 2012 is just over $75k at around $76500.

radz28 10-17-2011 08:59 AM

SWEET video!!! Leno's a lucky man :)

Rogan 10-17-2011 09:11 AM

Close to 50/50 on balance and launch control - the car is nice.

tramtwo 10-17-2011 09:30 AM

So is 75K the price point? Has there been any other statements on the ZL1 price quoted by any other GM people?

I haven't heard any - but I think she is going to be under 70k. Mid 60 at most. I think they put 75k and under to include the price of the z06 - and the zl1 is faster.

Nice info here in vid. Wish I could buy the mag control suspension on the 2SS...do not need the HP but the mag control ride and the 5 levels of traction control would be a nice option...

OldJedi 10-17-2011 09:48 AM

I put in a call to GM President Mark Reuss to have him bring the car by my house so I could get a better look at it and take it for a ride. I have not heard from him yet. The ZL1 will be a wonderful car, I only wish that Jay Leno had said that this was the fastest production car under $60,000 instead of $75,000. Nice video though.

whiteknight012 10-17-2011 09:54 AM

This is pretty awesome.

khislop007 10-17-2011 09:55 AM

:word: I think GM's using those comments to try to show value :) At least - that's what I hope :confused0068:

I was thinking about shock replacement last night... Even if these are somewhat reasonable in price, what happens when GM stops making replacements? Does Autozone carry MR shocks, and if not, where do we go then?... I know many aftermarket coilovers are rebuildable... What happens with these shocks?...

:laughabove::laughabove::laughabove: Yeah - I'm hoping they're just using that example to alude to the value ZL1 will be. Seeing statements like those worry me...

Yes, me too. But if it is that high, then I will buy the CTS-V instead.

JLambCWU 10-17-2011 10:28 AM

Awesome video, thanks for the post!

Well put. At least that's what I want to believe.

I think that GM knows that if the ZL1 is priced much more than ten percent higher than a "similarly equipped" GT500 or in the CTS-V range, most potential ZL1 buyers will choose to purchase other vehicles. The ZL1 needs to be priced in the range where its target demographic can and will purchase it.

Brianskeet 10-17-2011 11:18 AM

It is absolutely a droolmobile, but my gut says I'll never be able to afford it. I guess my SS and I have a long relationship ahead of us.

Belle 10-17-2011 11:23 AM

"Engineers running GM." It's a big point. Love it!

Caspers2SSRS 10-17-2011 11:28 AM

Slurp..........................................and being a fan of Leno, still remebering when he was a simple a sit in guest comedian for Carson...........its nice to see him hobnobbing with the commoners like the Pres of GM.
