At the Rolex 24 in the Camaro Corral. Driven in from Michigan by GM execs on winter tires. Enjoy!

It's not vin number 1 - it's a ctf car - and the vin numbers for the production car have a different format

Vin 1 is a black ZL1

Devilfish 01-29-2012 08:17 PM

The ZL1 Project manager said the one he was driving(yellow) was vin # 1. if you know what he looks like you can see him in the first & third pictures. Also, the IBM had a CTF sticker, not the yellow.

This thing has to stop , at my age i can't put up with this for much longer .Just get this production thing done and over with , lets start building the darn cars and hit the gas .

I don't doubt that's what you were told, however, it's been confirmed on here that the production ZL1's will have sequenced VINs, and I'm fairly certain the 1st one ends with C9800001.

The VIN of that yellow one you've pictured doesn't follow the format of the sequential VINs.

It's also been said that VIN 1 is Black, although that's yet to be confirmed.

If I'm wrong then I apologize, time will tell I guess

Either way, the pics are great :)

Devilfish 01-29-2012 09:24 PM

Deleted that post. I may have misunderstood. Maybe he meant ctf vin 1.

Are they still planning on killing off the blue?

How dumb is that?

I don't understand the logic in parading around a car with a discontinued color that you can't order.

stlrammer 01-29-2012 10:51 PM

I need a yellow one too. Aqua Blue Metalic would rock.

LimaCharlie 01-29-2012 11:19 PM

Yellow looks good with the black wheels.

Scandalous! Two ZL1s in Daytona but none in Houston?
One would think Houston would be an important city with Texas being one of the biggest markets for the Camaro.

There was a black one too, inside the track at the gm booth.

no doubt.... I'm sure the people that drive those test cars could care less about keeping the cars clean but come on......

my engine compartment in my car is very clean. almost clean enough to eat from. but looking at that engine compartment as nasty as it looks makes me

Cut them some slack. I took the pictures right after they pulled up. They had just driven down from Michigan. The driver of the yellwo one is the ZL1 project manager and they started cleaning the engine compartment within 10 minutes of pulling up.

It looks really good in Yellow with the black wheels.
