Which gas should I put into my camaro?

I always put premium in it is it worth it is it good or bad?

I only put premium on mine.

I run 89 oct. the medium gas.

I used to put regular. Now I put premium. The power output seems smoother, but that could just be a placebo effect. Numbers wise, I didn't see any mpg increase in hwy, but did notice a significant increase in city.

Do you have a LT or an SS? If you have an LT "with a tune" it might be worth a few extra HP. But most near-stock cars will see absolutley no gains by using Premium. You are only wasting your money. I actually put premium in my car the other day because I got a 10 off/gal deal. It made 0 difference I could tell! What a waste. The manual recommends to use regular, so I stick to regular now and save my money as gas 'aint cheap these days. But some people swear by premium. It's up to you, it will not harm your car using it, only your wallet.

I've been using premium in my V6...It seems to idle smoother. I've thought of going to medium grade and see how it works.

I've noticed here in CA we have different "blends" in the summer than winter. They've just started using the "summer" blend of gas. Now, I know for certain, that the summer blend causes my car to "hard" start and rough idle more than the winter. That being said It would be interesting to see if that makes more of a difference than the regular/premium does. I'll also be getting a G-Tech soon and can use it to do some fuel based comparisons...

V6 use regular, v8 use premium.

PoorMansCamaro 03-03-2012 01:11 AM

premie

I've used nothing but premium since I got the car in Jan 2010. Before this, I had a Mitsubishi 3000GT which required premium. Guess it's just a natural thing for me.

That's simple premium. Our V6 can run on most octains of fuel it just runs a lot better with premium.

Not quite, it manual actually states:

"use regular unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 87 or higher!"
