Late Model Racecraft's prototype Cold Air Induction System and Tune Results!!

After a few different designs we finally have a prototype Cold Air Induction System installed and tuned on our 2010 Camaro SS. Here is the dyno graph....

First run is bone stock
Second run is Tune ONLY
Third run is LMR Cold Air Intake and Tune

The results speak for themselves!

When will the air intake be available ? Do you know anyone in Illinois who can tune ?

THE EVIL TW1N 05-08-2009 12:15 AM

not bad numbers. it will probably hit 400 rwhp with a catback.

MikeBing 05-08-2009 12:44 AM

Very nice...how much would you say CAI, LT headers, catback exhaust.....all with a tune....affect fuel economy?

TAG UR IT 05-08-2009 02:22 AM

If you can afford an SS and have the money for a CAI, LT headers, catback and a tune...do you really care what the fuel economy is? lol

Doc 05-08-2009 03:02 AM

What's this thing sound like?

Put some Royal Purple in the trans and differential and see what affect that has on the numbers.

if you keep you foot out of it and stop listening to how great it sounds lol and just drive normally they will help a lil, probably around 2-4 mpg's

GMtothecore 05-08-2009 03:47 AM

How about a CAI and exhaust without a tune...what would be the power gain roughly?

I don't think this car needs an exhaust, probably only mufflers. The Cobra guys all run 2.5" exhaust untill about 600-650 rwhp. The stock exhaust on the camaro looks pretty good with it's smooth bends. I would just change the mufflers and remove the resonators (i think they are resonators) near the differential.

LS3SSRS 05-08-2009 04:38 AM

sweet!! this LS3 responds very well to mods... i'm thinking after the engine has broken in a bit, u might see another 10hp :D

GMtothecore 05-08-2009 05:08 AM

Ya, I plan on CAI, SLP headers, flowmaster super 44s, and call it good for a while

jeffny09 05-08-2009 05:28 AM

I for one would like to see what it looks like!

Its going to be a really exciting year
The learning curve on performance accessories for the camaro should be pretty short given the heritage of the LS3 and it looks like we will be spoiled for choice for options on everything from simple bolts ons to superchargers.

It will be great to see how Camaro5 evolves as it goes from folks looking forward to their new cars to sharing information on their experiences on accessories, performance tunes etc - thats where the community should really take off
