Camaro5 Fest III Autocross Driver's Schedule
Here we go!!!!! Big thanks go to Pedders for sponsoring the Autocross!!
Friday and Saturday sessions*
AM 9:15am - 12:00pm
PM 1:15pm - 6:00pm*
AM 9:15AM - 12:00PM
PM FINALS 4:30pm - 5:45pm
*Due to the amount of cars, we may run the afternoon session a bit longer if needed. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET TO RUN YOUR CARS AND LEAVE WITH PERMAGRIN!
Remember, there are two goals. 1) Be safe, 2) HAVE FUN
We have NO SCCA support for the event. To make the event run smoothly we need Camaro5 member help.
Drivers MUST work the corners. If you do not support the event as a corner worker, you will NOT drive in the event.
Pedders and a few of our Dealers will staff the Autocross, but we cannot do it alone.
So without wasting your time reading, here ya go!

We can accomodate Drivers during this session as it fills up. The bulk of this session will be the Finalists running for the trophies!
THIS IS IMPORTANT!! I've got the "checking mods" section because it was never listed which class you would be running in. We are trying to keep similar classed cars running during the session so there's no running each other over.
So, if you have a supermodified car and your name is under "checking mods", please let me know in this thread!!! I'll get you into the right session.
Now, just as equally important!
If this time does not work for you do to conflicts, like Drag Strip, LPE seminar, etc..... I need to know now. I can move you, I just need you to post in this thread or send a PM which session works best for you!
As you can see, Saturday PM session has no one in it right now. We're expecting more cars that have signed up. Also that PM session on Saturday gives us the opportunity to run the finalists in each class for the awards!!
Event Staff and volunteers! If there is a conflict that I don't see, or if you're unable to commit as slotted, I need to know! Volunteers are going to make this a huge success. My hats off to you already! Many thanks!

Is there a possibility to run a second time Saturday PM if those spots are not used?
Saturday PM will be used that's for sure. Depends on how many more folks we get signed up. That, and folks that never sign up but show up at the track the day of. We want everyone to get a chance to run! Right now I'm hoping folks will let me know if there is some type of conflict either with the volunteer time slot and their run, or if they have other plans and want to run a different session.
The ultimate goal, other than everyone getting all they want out of this, is making sure we don't have a super modified car chasing down a stock car while on the track (or vice versa ;))
Sweet....sounds like fun! Thanks for everything.
Bump so drivers can see when they're runnin!!!
I am assuming that since you dropped me from volunteer on Friday AM (and that I'm running in that slot) that you don't need me for both sessions Friday and have enough people.
Just checking in!
With 60 (for right now) per session scheduled to run, and drivers helping out as well during their session.... we should have plenty of people.
Didn't want to offend, just trying to free up some of your fest time.
Thanks for the messages folks! I want this to be right so no one's disappointed!
Norm, anyway we can get a more specific time of when we're going versus being there from 8:30 - 12?
We'll have two cars on the track at a time in intervals so we're hoping you guys will be wore out behind the wheel during your session, and leave with permanent permagrin. Plus, the "shoe" cars will be running during each session, exhibition/vendor cars, etc. Plus, plus, plus...... ya'll are gonna have fun! :happyanim:
Friday 08/03/2012 7:30am: Gates open for vendors & staff 8:00am: Gates open for all attendees 9:00am - 11:00am: Car Show 11:00am – 7:00pm: Drag Strip open 11:00am – 4:00pm: Auto-cross open 1:00pm - 2:00pm: Sponsors Appreciation Hour
If the car show runs until 11, I can't do the am session unless these times change.
OP UPDATED WITH PREREGISTRATION INFORMATION AND LINK TO PREREGISTER!
Once you complete the form, you'll receive an email from echosign (check your spam folders!) to validate the form. Validate it and we'll have it. Done!
Please Note there is a different thread for drag racing topics, classes and times.
Carry on... :D
Let's just say they set up an average track that takes 45 seconds to go around. (that's a pretty good track). That's .75 minutes so in 210 minutes, that's 280 runs. Times two cars is 560 runs possible in 3.5 hours. So at 50 cars you could potentially squeeze 10 runs per driver. That's a TON. Most events I've run in are 5-6 but that's when the day is split in 3 sessions, not 2. That's if all runs smooth, which it won't. Never does.
I'd say drives need to be there the full time. You guys will have fun, just don't set up too "fast" of a track. People with way more balls than talent will end up smashing up something.
Hey, were you looking at my calculator???????
This, I believe, will be a "handling" track with a dash of speed. Definately not a triple digit road course.
These types of courses can really teach you what a car is capable of doing. It's also very taxing on the mind believe it or not. Roll in, roll out, late brake, slides, tire squeal, brake fade and on and on and on.
All the while your jaw is aching and you can't figure out why..... Permagrin
It feels like your lap lasted forever.....
It's only been 1 minute.....
You're faster than somebody.....
For anyone who has never run an autocross... It's SOOOOO much better than the 1320. Much harder on your car tho!
It is VERY intense. Most autocross events I've run in the C5 (vette) or the Camaro, you can really run the whole course in 1st usually. Shifting to 2nd was pointless, since you'd be back in 1st right away. With a speed stretch you can probably grab 2nd but just watch you don't get to hot! :)
Just sent... don't want to offend anyone.
Got my e-registration done! Cant wait!
SoCal Race team #13 will be there to represent!
Has anyone else completed it? Or questions about it?
