How far did you drive to attend C5FIII?

I wanted to go, real bad. :iono: But I'm in CA and just couldn't forsee making that drive. What I want to know, is how many of you from the West side of the US actually made the drive to Indianapolis?... and how far was it for you?? Was it worth the miles on your car round trip?

Nevertheless...looking forward to next year, but sporting TT's by then! (actually in a week!!) :headbang:

SGT Stretch 08-06-2012 07:35 PM

I drove 1033 miles straight through to there just so I could have the parking lot party Friday Saturdays events and leave on Sunday morning to drive 1033 miles back. Was worth every mile and I was only there 1 day.

My drive was only about 3 hours but I spoke with a couple that drove in from Tucson.

I went 2200 something round trip and had a good time.

H0peful1 08-06-2012 08:24 PM

We have a little plane, so, since we don't have a Camaro yet to drive , we flew in from CO. Hubby, son, and I all enjoyed it. It was cool just to wander around and see all the Camaros, and the love and mods the owners had put into them.

Seeing all the work done by vendors, I'd think it's worth it to drive out to eliminate shipping charges and have the orig vendor do the work, in addition to all the camaroderie <<custom C5 spelling ;)

Plus, in this case, it was at Indy! No better place for those who love cars, IMO. And we got a special sneak peek at the Hot Wheels Camaro at the Children's Museum since we had to head out Fri night.

I left last spring so I've been in NY for a little over a year now. I have the ABM vortech car, I lived down in San Diego when i was there. Guillermo said he was gonna hook me up with a race team sticker after how I represented the family this weekend going to the finals in both Auto X and drags...

RubyCamaro 08-06-2012 09:38 PM

We drove around 300 miles and it was well worth every inch of it!!!!!!!!!!!

Neumatic 08-06-2012 09:40 PM

Little less then 700mi on the way there as I made a stop to purchase some tires from a C5 member(and got lost in the process adding most the extra miles). Then 622 miles from the host hotel to my apartments on my way back.

SSE 4 2SS 08-06-2012 09:46 PM

2010ABM 08-06-2012 09:55 PM

2531 round trip.

stlrammer 08-06-2012 09:57 PM

500 miles round trip for me and I would do it again this weekend too if it were held again. I spoke with people from as far away as San Diego and LA. The folks from LA I spoke with went into their local dealer a week ago to buy a new Escalade and left with a Red ZL1 then packed up and made the trip to Indy. Nice family with a couple of younger kids. They all were so pumped up to be in Camaro heaven. Even the kids were in awe.

kevin1106 08-06-2012 10:02 PM
