GM Talking about How The Camaro Came To Life

Hey everyone. As a Chevy lover I saw a video talking about how the 5th gen Camaro cam to life. Hope everyone enjoys:

I work with GM but am not an official spokesperson. All views and opinions are my own

ToolFan66 09-10-2012 01:22 AM

Not long enough, but still fun..

AdamEL 09-10-2012 03:06 AM

Really cool. I agree with ToolFan66 - I wish it was longer. :)

Very informative

I talked with David Ross at the GM display when they hosted the Hot Rod Power Tour this year.
They had that sketch board and the clay model on display.
They are very proud of this car!

If you want more read the book by Larry Edsall: Camaro / A Legend Reborn.
1000 times more info, photos, stats, etc.

austinjames 09-10-2012 07:29 AM

that was amazing

Kahdir 09-10-2012 07:51 AM

May I make a little correction
The author is Larry Edsall.

The foreward was written by Ed Welburn. This is a great book.

So sad.

Videos are great for a quick look, but there is NOTHING like a book. Yesterday I pulled out my Camaro book and re-read many sections. A book is forever.

We know the passion and dedication of the Fbodfather, but this book also shows the enthusiasm of the entire team. We can only imagine what was not included in the book.

I first saw the concept camaros at the GM Carlisle Pa tent in 2007. Take a look at the photo on page 63 (lower right corner). It's the concept in it true form WITHOUT the "B pillar", being driven by Rick Wagoner.
It's the only photo I've ever seen of a 5th gen with all the side windows down.... probably for a good reason.
So much style/beauty was lost when they added that center post making our cars coupes instead of true hardtops imo.... Another reason to buy the book.

And proud they should be!

This car is proof positive that GM can keep up with the best of them. Who would have known that the process was that long or complicated.

Way to go GM!!!! :w00t:

Nice,i too wish G.M. had a 30 min.-hour show of just the camaro build, from start to finish,

LAWMAN 09-11-2012 04:35 PM

by the way,the quad exaust on the 13' Camaro sounds great, like the "ss" should have sounded from the factory back in 2010

My45thAnniversaryCamaro 09-11-2012 05:01 PM
