Personally I like it a lot. Looking great.

couldnt really see too much. a little blurry but it looks good so far. was that a torque guage by the shifter????

AirGoya 01-26-2008 04:21 PM

The steering wheel is def growing on me. I like the color of light behind the gauges.
I thought GM said no more camo?

Jay 01-26-2008 04:25 PM

lookin okay.

camarocrazy28 01-26-2008 04:28 PM

Hold on, let me get my glasses! Oh, I don't were glasses. Nice pics anyway. Interior looks really cool.

num1panthersfan 01-26-2008 05:11 PM

loven the interior tho taken the 69 interior and the gen 4 and mixed into a sexy beast.

i cant wait to get this car:happyanim: :bellyroll:

o and ehmer in order to save the pic u must right click it and "save picture as..."

edit according to that torque gauge the max is 370lb/ft, can anbody match that with horsepower i have now idea how to but i would guess that camaro has 350-400hp

JaysonAych 01-26-2008 05:19 PM

It's good to see that the fuel and temperature gauges were moved up to the main gauge binnacles. It looked like that might have been the case in the previous interior shots, but it wasn't terribly clear.

While it's not as hyperfuturistic as the show car, I like the shifter. Looks like it's got a good grip and enough room for some fun throws.

It's definately coming along nicely. That's pretty sweet that they added a torque gauge in there.

I have been using computers for about 17 years now, so yes I did know that. Did work before for some reason, but does now.

EDIT: And it only worked on the first pic...wtf?

As for the blurriness of the pics, yeah, obviosuly it's too hard to keep your cell still when taking pics :bellyroll:

First off, why has no one stated the obviously huuuuuuuuuuuge hint we just got here? Look at the torque gauge (really freaking cool, BTW.) Look real close. It goes up to 370 lb-ft. That's way less than the LS3. Less than the L76. Low end Gen V anyone?

Secondly, looking like some real nice progress there. I'm liking the steering wheel. Radio stack still needs a TON of work though...

Finally, yay standard transmission. Obviously a different car than we've seen before.

I must say, I think the gauge cluster looks a bit odd... :yikes: but I guess I'll have to wait for better pics. I like what they did to everything else though. :w00t: the head unit looks awesome.

stovt001 01-26-2008 06:04 PM

Also, not a fan of the ignition in the steering column. I'd like dash mounted better I think. Also not a fan of the hand brake. Otherwise looking very good.

Ok, a little pain here, but if you move your mouse around on the larger version pics, there are places in the pics that it turns into a pointer and you can right click and save. Otherwise, it tries to save the links. I have saved them all if anyone wants me to email them, let me know.

DGthe3 01-26-2008 06:06 PM

That 370 ft lbs torque gauge got me thinking L76. If it were the LS3, even detuned, it would be at 400-430. But the versions of the L76 used in cars have more than 370 ft lbs. In fact, I don't know of any GM engine for cars that would give such a number.

NVMY68SS 01-26-2008 06:08 PM

As for the Torque gauge, the Pontiac info lists this for their engines.

256 hp/248 lb.-ft. (G8)
361hp/385 lb.-ft. (G8 GT)

Emher 01-26-2008 06:11 PM

Also me thinks torque might not be accurate due to a test only engine.

Hmmm....370 lb-ft of torque. I wonder if that's leaving any room for modification. I wouldn't think that the torque gauge would max out at what the actual stock engine torque does...but who knows:iono: . It would be kind of annoying to slap say some LT Pace Setters in there and have the torque gauge in the red more than half the time you're driving the car.:(

Perhaps this is an entry level V8 with...hmm..maybe 330-350 lb-ft of torque.:)

You have to hover the pointer right in the center of the picture...Jalopnik:thumbdown:
I learned that the hard way during the first interior shots.:iono:

Anyways.....AHHH!!!! I'm absolutely LOVING the way the interior is coming along.   :happyanim: :happyanim: :happyanim:

Things Dragoneye notices:
CUP-HOLDERS
Radio is coming along..Like screen-plastic (very nice.)
REALLY lovin' the center console. looks like a flip-open storage.
Gauges (all of them) = real cool.
Parking brake...meh, not bad - but I can certainly live with it.

Thanks for posting these up!

EDIT...maybe it's a V6??? And the gauge doesn't end on a peak number? Or perhaps it's not flywheel torque, but rear wheel torque??? That would definitely be in the realm of the L76.

camaro10 01-26-2008 07:16 PM

Guess this means no nav huh? Well I guess that's cool too. Just build it!!

num1panthersfan 01-26-2008 07:20 PM

Is it possible that it will have the same engine as the Pontiac G8 GT?

DGthe3 01-26-2008 07:20 PM

I don't think thats wheel torque, because people will complain that their car isn't making the torque that its supposed to. Stupid yes but . . . we are talking about average consumers. But we have no idea about what those numbers actually mean because I don't know of any cars that have that a torque gauge.

camaro10 01-26-2008 07:21 PM

It's too bad they're not using the red, white, and blue Camaro Logo anywhere. I think it would look great on the steering wheel. The Camaro typeface looks a little small.

stovt001 01-26-2008 07:32 PM

Yeah its too bad they're not using that logo anymore.

As for nav, I assume we're going to be offered Onstar's turn by turn navigation. I'll just get my self a Garmin Nuvi.

Well I hope they rethink that, I'm sure the re-vamped Mustang will have a Nav system available.
