Went to the dealership to look at a Camaro and test drove this 2011 2SS/RS:

Ended up buying this 2011 2LT/RS:

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-w..._8125881_o.jpg

Made some changes to it, had fun, made it my own... but always had the SS in the back of my mind...

Then, after a year and a half I found this:

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-j...s800/98645.jpg

A used 2011 2SS/RS with fewer than 3000 miles on her. So, I traded my IOM in for a SGM :D

For now I am leaving the drivetrain alone and focusing on the appearance.

Things I've done so far:

Exterior Mods

· ACS TL1 Hood Insert painted Satin Black
· “GREENGO” personalized license plate
· Tint all around
· Forgestar F14's 20X9.5 and 20X10.5
· Michelin Pilot Super Sports, front 275/35 and rear 295/35
· 1LE rear diffuser
· Quad exhaust tips
· Matte black front fascia vinyl with red pin strip
· Matte black mail slot vinyl
· Matte black rear vinyl with bowtie cutout
· Rear bowtie delete
· Satin black rear light bezels
· Removed the stripes
· Hot Wheels Ed. Stripe kit
· ZL1/Hot Wheels Ed. Spoiler
· Muffler delete

Lighting Mods

· Green LED dome light
· Green LED footwell lights

Performance Mods

I have more plans... and more changes to add soon...

Looks good, I have left the drivetrain alone for the most part. Suspension is what I am more interested in but appearance I am working on as well.

It will never end

The satin black was the right choice in my opinion! It looks great on the SGM! When I read your first post, I was thinking man, how did he go to look at a 2SS and end up with a 2LT?! But I quickly saw that you made an upgrade! Good luck on your build. Looking forward to seeing what else you have in store.

hood looks great!

pierre777 01-23-2013 03:10 PM

Vents look great congrats.

Goo 01-23-2013 03:26 PM

Thanks guys.

I know AGM would be easier to paint... but I like the satin.

I'll be glad when I can get it re-painted and checked off my list.

Here are the pictures of the install.

You can see in the last picture the wipper just touchs the insert when up, so if everyone else plans on this install you may want to slide the template forward a tad. But really not bad.

Great choice with the satin. Do you have to do anything different when your cleaning it?

It is clear-coated so I just wash it like the rest of the car... Just don't wax it.

So I think this is the direction I'm headed (plus 1LE Spliter and ZL1 rockers)...

Goo 05-02-2013 04:57 PM

I went ahead and Plasti-diped the wheels to make sure I like them. The photoshop above only gets you so far...

I do like them and have decided to get them powdercoated satin black with the red stripe. But first I am waiting to get me another pair of rears and run square.

I hate the P-zeros but I only have 7k on them... So I am thinking of buying a matching pair of 275s until I need all four at once.

Tomorrow I am getting the tint re-done. A local shop would like to sponsor my car and is willing to redo my tint for free if I let them sticker my back window for awhile.

I love SGM camaros! In my opinion. The best of the limited editions.

Thank you! I was just thinking about how much I like this color... I happened to be washing it at the time

RenegadeSS 05-02-2013 10:46 PM

Nice! :thumb: I wish I had the opportunity to buy one. Closest on was in Florida. If it were up to me though. I would do a hot wheel replica.
