2013 Pontiac Trans Am

1 Attachment(s)
I'll track the build happening now at Trans Am Depot in FL. Hope to see the car completed in a few weeks. I am waiting on the t-tops until later this year as their new 2.0 version becomes available.

Started with a '13 2SS with Mojave interior. Hate to blaspheme for the TA faithful, but I am opting not to go with the bird on the hood.

Very early shot of progress. Fender extractors on, nose test fitted. Nearly every panel on the car will be altered or replaced.

Mild performance upgrades will be done here in Phx at Cordes Performance.

I'm a Pontiac guy at heart - had a couple of TA's back in the day and recently owned a G8 GXP as well as a 630 hp Solstice Coupe.

Stay tuned.

630Hp Solstice has to be a mean SOB. I will be watching the process of your build. I too love Pontiac.

It was too mean. That's why I'm not going FI on the TA.

I didn't like pictures I had seen. But after seeing one for real this weekend, HELL YEAH! This conversion looks great..

sbindley 04-17-2013 06:57 PM

Where did you see the Trans Am? I have not seen one in person -- the first one for me will be when mine rolls off the truck. Also, I have decided to have the t-tops added asap, even if it pushes the build longer. Gotta have the t-tops, right?

Combover 04-17-2013 07:22 PM

I'm interested in seeing this conversion. I had a few Trans Ams back in the day.

Saw a couple of those at the F-body Gathering last year, they are NICE !

Great choice, can't wait to see it done :)

was at the Texas Camaro Revolution and it was awesome

in for the progress

sbindley 04-18-2013 09:49 AM

Interior is supposed to wrap up this week. With most exterior panels coming out of paint, progress should happen quickly going forward. T-Tops will be last and add 2-3 weeks. Hope to see car in June.

Out of curiosity, how long do they warranty all the work for?

Dude, please post more about that solstice. Its was always a dream to build a beastmode solstice or sky

Nice build. We had Trans Am Depot out at Pony Wars last year. They brought several cars and turned a lot of heads. Keep us updated as this is going to be sweet!!

A walkaround on the Solstice. I donated it to the Phoenix Children's Hospital and it was auction at Russo and Steele in January.

I'm surprised no one has built a ZL1 based Trans Am labeled as WS6 or anything.

jeffswhitess 04-18-2013 05:09 PM

want to see more!

aquablueL99 04-18-2013 05:27 PM

sbindley,
Outstanding idea..can hardly wait for the final product...TAs were always one of the coolest cars....friend of mine has a 69 TA....He was the bodyshop instructor at IVY TECH that painted our 68 Camaro as a class project in 1988!!..:clap2:

I believe they have a ZL1 in the shop now undergoing the Transformation. Most of their TA's leave with more power than the ZL1 anyway, and it is a lot of money for pieces that get removed - hood, most body panels, wheels, etc.
