Camaro Corral for Sahlen's 6 Hrs of the Glen
Please try and join us for the 3rd Annual Camaro Corral Grand Am Race Weekend June 28th-30th at Watkins Glen. This event will be organized by UpstateC5 Camaro Club and is open to any Camaro or Firebird owner. Tickets will be $30/person (19 & under free) for the weekend and includes a spot in the turn 1 car corral as well as paddock access. We also hope to be able to get on the track for parade laps following Saturday’s race depending on the track schedule. I have requested a presence from Chevrolet and have obtained support from the people at Grand Am. We will also be setting up some team tours and tech talks and hopefully will have some hot lap pace car ride-alongs available via a drawing. For anyone interested in attending this event please post in this thread. More details to follow as things are setup. We hope to eclipse our turnout of 35 cars from last year so mark your calendars.
The Ramada Inn & Conf Center in Ithaca has one again agreed to be our Host Hotel for this event. Info as follows:
Ramada Inn & Conference Center
2310 N. Triphammer Rd.
Ithaca, NY 14850
Standard Rm. $119.95/night + taxes includes complimentary breakfast. Check-in after 3:00PM Checkout before 11:00AM. You must contact hotel at least 72 hours prior to check-in to cancel a reservation.
You must call the hotel directly to reserve at the group rate. Use code UpstateC5. Room rate reservation cutoff is June 1st.
This hotel is about 30 minutes from the track. It has a restaurant and is within walking distance to Pyramid Mall, Applebees, and a few other local restaurants. We have a block of 15 rooms available. Cut off date to reserve a room is June 1. Parking lot parties OK, to a certain extent. If you book a room please post or PM me and I'll add to the list.
There are other hotels in the Ithaca area, as well as Elmira, Corning, and Geneva. If one of these suits you better by all means book one.
When you order tickets they will be shipped to you (about 2 weeks before the event), so try not to wait until the last minute. The will call office gets very busy on race weekend and you don't want to be in that mess. Once again they are $30/person and you order them from the number on the attached flyer link and use the code 'car club group'. Once you order tickets please post or PM me and I'll add that to the list, too.
Official Event Schedule:
Continental Tire GS & ST race is Saturday at 3:00 and is a 2.5 hour race
Rolex DP & GT race is Sunday at 11:00 and is a 6 hour race
Corral & Ticket Info:
As it stands, parade laps will be on Saturday after the race, around 6:00PM. This of course, is always subject to change at the discretion of the track depending on timing.
Corral Cookout- To be held at Steve's campsite on the backstretch Saturday at 4:00
Here is the item template for the Cookout. I will provide pulled pork & smoked turkey breast. Steve will provide burgers & hotdogs. I tried to break it up equally. PM me or post in this thread the item # and what you plan to bring. That way as the list is updated, we won't get a lot of duplication. If you want to bring something not categorized below, let me know and I can add it. Trying to keep things simple and not have too much left over. For quantity divide number of entries in the category by 40 and that should be a close enough estimate as to amount you need to bring. You can never have enough plates & napkins, though.

Rick & Karen.
Glad you guys are coming back.
Wanted to book the room closest to the Fire Alarm switch.:director::bolt:
I'm in +1 (at least). No hotel.
Hope it isn't as windy this year!
We were suppose to be there last year but something came up at the last minute. Have to check my schedule but hopefully we can make it this year.
Add a +1 next to my name please.
Thanks Mark! I'll be there just to mess with y'all tourists :caked:
+1 me on the list too, please. Still debating hotel or not.
