Still don't like the rear end.....

Great engine but how much weight has been reduced?

chef-beavis 03-27-2013 12:13 PM

Happy where I'm at but it looks fantastic for Chevy/GM. This will move cars. Very interested to see spec's on weight and suspension and particulars. I'm also curious to see how many of these will be produced and if this will bring the demise of the 1LE option?

All in all, I think Chevy has done a great job this generation of building a ton of great variations with something for everyone. Every damn year has brought forth something new, be it a color, model, engine, stereo, wheels, special package, etc. In 20 years you would have to have been here now to explain it all to your kids at a show; much klike the old days and the old models. Fun stuff.

It IS truly a great time to be a Camaro enthusiast! (thanks Scott)

That car looked sick !! I would love to get one. Still not a big fan of the rear.

Cruuzin LV 03-27-2013 12:15 PM

The rear looks like a Nascar! I love it!

Very good question since z28 should be all about performance. From the sound of it I feel as if they must have reduced a good amount even if its small things like taking speakers off and such... only time will tell for sure.

Better then expected, and I give GM a big thumbs up! I'm just not blown away with the overall refresh look. I'll be keeping mine and looking forward to the Gen6.

It's a cool update but agreed. The new fascia reminds me of a squinty eyed junkie.:sm0:

Order already phoned in...

motorhead 03-27-2013 12:29 PM

Already called my dealer. He said that he figured he would be hearing from me.

I not holding my breath for getting one thought because GM gives them to all the dealers around big cities first it seems.

Obzen 03-27-2013 12:33 PM

Doesn't come out til spring 2014, that's gonna be quite a long deposit.

I wonder what will be the sticker price... Somewhere in the 40 thousands?

maybe some day.....but that is one bad mamma jamma!

My second (and last) Camaro is in my garage. I plan to keep this one for a long time, but my next performance purchase will likely be a Ford product. I'm done with GM's warranty shenanigans.

mako22 03-27-2013 01:26 PM

are those "wide-body" add ons over the wheels? can I have some?

:sm0: My guess is it will cost the same or MORE than a ZL1.

No AC/ sound deading/ base radio w 1 speaker <--- this is a true track car that is road legal. So it is not a direct competitor to the ZL1 but more of a weekend toy.

Hand built LS7 and the Carbon ceramic brakes (which are big $$$) are going to add a ton of cost. My guess is the shocks are pricy too. So add those in and it is not going to be cheap.

halo8hkk 03-27-2013 02:05 PM

i wonder if there will be a option to put the stereo speakers back in. the wonderful sound the the 427 is only good for so long before you need some music. that would be the deal killer for me.

2SSRS@Gen5diy 03-27-2013 02:08 PM

Have had one on order for some time now.

Its 300 lbs lighter than the ZL1

GretchenGotGrowl 03-27-2013 02:11 PM

Definitely want one. Don't think the wife will let me have two Camaros though.

06_warrior 03-27-2013 02:30 PM

Like it and think it's great they brought back the Z/28. I'm not liking everything of the restyling of the new 14' model. Especially not liking the rear tail lights no matter how many times i look at it. Love the wheels and seats. I still like my SS enough that i'm not entertaining trading for the newest Camaro. Still waiting to see what the 6th. Gen will look like. Will have to wait and see. Having my fingers crossed it will be an awesome design.
