Richy_Rich 04-01-2013 04:44 PM

All lower bits are carbon, front, side and rear, including the spoiler.

I think he's wrong. None of the technical information released indicates manual crank windows. As I recall, this prototype has elec windows.

Jer4251 04-01-2013 04:56 PM

maybe it will be an option to delete the power windows. If i was buying one of theses, i would get everything possible deleted.

I just can't get over the stick on fender flares. I get what they are trying to accomplish with this car, but 60k+ for obvious stick on parts?

With the advancements in small powerful electric motors I really doubt there would be much weight savings if any with changing to manual window crank mechanicals.

nothing to do with the weight of the motors, just the overall feel of manual windows

Really.. Well I would much rather have the power windows we have now than the old crank type I grew up with....in fact when I started driving in 1969 I had only seen power windows on Cadillacs... Myself I never had a car with power windows until 1986, after that I never bought another crank window car.. But I did own a couple trucks with crank windows... Much more convenient especially if you are the only one in the car and you have 4 windows to roll down...

I had to stop the second video about 3/4 of the way. that guy's voice was getting on my nerves! lol

seeing this makes me love my ZL1 all the more now. I like having all my creature comfort features ALONG with almost 600 ponies to use if needed.

Modern power window options are lighter than hand crank assemblies in most cases.

I don't think you understand what he understands about the fender flares. They look like an afterthought that is what he means and by stick on parts he means parts that are stuck on with 3m tape (which I'm sure the pep boys fender flares are)...

All cars should have this feature: replaceable rub strips when your wife brushes the pylons at ATM machines due to trying to get a wide door and fender car close enough to reach the key pad

It's probably cheaper than teaching women to use common sense in a car.... :bonk:

That's because of the tires and downforce. I am sure when you was at the gm engineering school you learned that

I really dont care for the venting on the hood. It looks like the vents they put on house's in the attic area with fans to ventelate them to keep cool. Cheap looking

Are you sure about that? It appears that only the hood insert is Carbon Fiber; the splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser look to be gloss black, not CF. Which is VERY good news for track use, as you can't easily refinish the clear coat on CF parts.
