....Love the gains by Challenger....

Interesting data. Thanks for posting. Just curious, did Dodge make some changes to cause the huge jump from last year?

ORANGE U NV 04-02-2013 04:42 PM

Mopar can't afford to replace the Challenger if they keep these sales gains!

They aren't. The rumoured Barracuda will not replace the Challenger but offer a more driver focused experience leaving the Chally to be a muscle car GT.

My guess would be cash on the hood or some other form of incentive.

Challengers are deeply discounted. I was offered over 10% off sticker for an RT with the blacktop option. Ended up with a ZL1 instead.

jesslz 04-05-2013 11:49 PM

I've been seeing a ton of challengers lately...

sspolo 04-06-2013 12:08 AM

I read that the Challenger will not change until 2015 or 2016. Who can blame them though! 5/6 year old vehicle is still selling really good.

doc7000 04-06-2013 02:26 AM

Solid incentives on the Challenger gave it a really big boost, though a sign that the writing is on the wall with that vehicle.

Fiftydriver 04-06-2013 10:53 AM

Looks like the economy is putting a pounding on all sales.

Challanger certainly coming on strong, better watch out stang lovers, may be third place soon!!! LOL

90503 04-06-2013 10:58 AM

The Challenger will never be in first place....If it was, they couldn't call it the "Challenger"...lol...

Yep, Ralph said there's more to come for the Challenger. Looking forward to it!

Michael2000 04-07-2013 01:44 AM

It's nice to see the Challenger coming up strong. Makes it more of a three horse race. Out of the three, the Challenger is the only one with a usable back seat. Competition can only improve all three of them over the long haul.

Glad the Challenger has done better! But with the 2014 Camaro coming soon. I expect sales to go up with the Camaro

Twoblindsheep 04-07-2013 02:05 AM

There is grumblings that Dodge had really good incentives last month, which would explain the big jump in sales.

It wasn't just for last month this has been going on for almost half a year. Ally had $2000 cash allowance when I bought my Yellow Jacket back in Sep. The person who said that Challengers are heavily discounted is speaking the truth. Dealers rarely have Challengers in stock as is, and the ones on the lots are getting in the range of $7,000 - $11,000 off sticker with those incentives.

Nope, for the most part the Challenger has been unchanged since it came out in 2008. Minor upgrades in 2011 with the 392 and some minute interior and exterior changes. But for the most part it looks the exact same. 2015 MY will bring a refresh of the front and rear fascia and a complete overhaul of the interior.

calebparkin3 04-08-2013 02:14 PM

Im glad to see the Challenger having more sales Id hate to see it go. IMO its the last true "muscle car". Its a beautiful car. Im going to have to add one of the 392's to my collection in the next few years. I think all three cars are GREAT in their own way!

sspolo 04-08-2013 04:25 PM

I believe you can buy fully loaded R/T's anywhere from 27-31k and that's a common price. That could definitely be taking some potential Camaro V6 buyers away from Chevy.

KTWillys 04-08-2013 04:34 PM

only problem is that doesn't break down the v6 to V8 ratio..

with deep discounts the better economy version of all three will drive sales up due the fact that they can sell a cool looking car that has no power or hope of power but it is an easy way to crank up the sales numbers.

I will be a pretty low percentage of all three of those sales are the top of the line version.. SS GT ect..

Valkyrja 04-08-2013 04:48 PM

I tried boosting the Camaro's numbers by one in March but every dealer was very set at charging me MSRP or above and... just, no I will not do that. Looking forward to the 2014 model year though. :)

SS, GT, and R/T are not top of the line ...
