Used decks of cards instead of tape to protect the tire

I think it looks pretty good, you did a good job!

Zyklon-SS 04-27-2013 08:53 PM

It looks good, im not sure how durable it'll be

RoadieWingZ 04-27-2013 10:07 PM

I like the result you achieved on the wheels, but think that your white stripes go better with a lighter colored wheel. If you removed the white stripes or put on dark stripes that match the wheel it'd look better IMHO...:thumb:

I think it looks good. I prefer Gloss black wheels though.

GbrilliantQ 04-27-2013 10:27 PM

Looks great.

From my Note

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I have the same concern with the black wheels and white stripes which is why I'm not sure I like it. Probably should have gone with the grey but the store only had 2 cans and didn't want to chance running out.

I'm not changing my stripes, I like my creamcycle:bellyroll:.but it does make exterior mods challenging. I don't have my windows tinted, which is next, so maybe that will help balance it a bit....:iono:

Sure dont... I called autozone the other day and the guy acted like he didnt know what I was talking about and I was in no mood to bother trying to explain. I'm sure somewhere around town will carry it.

Pagliaro 04-28-2013 07:36 AM

Why not plastidip the wheels white?

People have, only hard part is that you have to order the plasti-dip online, Home Depot only sells the black in a rattle can.

Ryanbabz71 04-28-2013 08:06 AM

Lowes has black and white

Pagliaro 04-28-2013 10:22 AM

I looked at some wheels with the white and I'm not a fan. Also think it would be hard to keep it looking good with brake dust.

cheaplabor 04-28-2013 11:43 PM

I like the look of the satin black, but with the white stripes I would have stayed polished:biggrin:

Meltdownaverted 04-29-2013 12:11 PM

how many cans did you use?

Outlaw77 04-29-2013 03:46 PM

looks good.

What happens when you change tires...will it show marks around the rim?

I might change it to the smoke when the tires come off in the fall, but so far, people seeing it in person love how they look, even with the white stripes....:iono:

2 1/2. I looked at them today out of the sun and can see some spots along the edge that could have used a bit more, but I don't think anyone would notice.

I don't think so....the nice thing about the product is that if they rub or get marked up, you can do it again. Total cost was $40 which included 3 packs of cards and extra rags.
