warranty

Hey people I just installed my Borla S type cat back exhaust and it sounds sweet. Id really like to throw some quality headers on for my next Mod. Does this type of Mod automatically void my warranty? Any way around this if it does?

Shouldn't, but it largely depends on your dealer. And to take advantage of the headers you really need a tune...which will void the warranty.

Yes, it will void your warranty due to the tune required for headers.

My car is 4 years old with bolt on mods, and it has been tuned for close to 4 years. I've always been completely upfront with my dealership about my mods, and I've never been denied any warranty work. I just recently had several parts replaced under my power train warranty.

So you can't just make a blanket statement that your warranty is void if you get your car tuned. It a case by case situation and it all depends on the part/parts in question.

This is correct. I just have the readers digest answer. If you tune your car and your A/C goes out or something not related to the tune your warranty should still cover it.

Let's put this in a different perspective: If you tune your car, and IF GM finds out about it (above the dealer level, obviously) then your powertrain warranty will be voided.

Nothing is illegal until you get caught.
