Detailer's Bar

There's a pretty solid group of us that have gotten to know one another pretty well on here. Figured I'd make a dedicated place for us to hang out and talk about other stuff; drinks, girls, cigars, guns, Roshan's drunk texts-- whatever it is you're into.

That being said, have at it

ihaveacamaro 05-18-2013 08:48 PM

Haha let's do it. Could serve as a what did you do detailing related thread too if you don't want to make a specific thread :)

Yeah whatever we want. That's the whole point. That way we can keep our threads more on topic and do our bullshitting here in one collective place.

Awesome! So can this not be an Adams thread?

Either way let the drunk posts begin!

Damn, sorry Camarodreams :D

I'm not as good as you guys as a detailer but I think I'm pretty damn good. I need to open up and learn about more products though.

ec1990 05-18-2013 11:04 PM

Post up any questions you have! Someone around here is bound to have an answer, or an opinion at least.

Exactly. I need to learn more about different products, and techniques.

Those were classic. Been there more than a few times myself.

I recently picked up some V7 optical select detailing spray/sealant. Wow, it is good stuff. Spray on easy to apply, glides on smooth, and provides some serious high gloss. It levels and dries very fast - almost evaporates. The sealant factor is a bonus.

I just picked this up with blacklight, supposedly an awesome combo.

Also if anyone didn't know Chemical Guys pricing is real cheap on Amazon, you can sign up for subscribe and save so it orders it every 6 months, or whatever you select, and saves you 5% on top of already cheap prices. I will order things, as soon as it ships, cancel the subscription so you dont forget about it.

Definitely an awesome combo. About the only things from CG that have been worth a crap in my book.

Menz has been pretty good for polishing, Optimum I haven't tried the sprays yet but they promising. And with the BOGO i tried out some Blackfire, not midnight sun though, just don't feel like spending money right now as i'm getting ready to move. As for Americana it wasn't bad but it didn't wow me, I even have a full tub that will probably go up for sale as I'd rather have the cash.

Yes Menz is great but pricey, too much for the weekend warrior IMO. Optimum sprays are great. I like Americana, it's in the top three paste waxes I've tried.

Keep me in mind for that americana.

I pulled a Roshan last night...... Wow ! It's a drag getting old boys

And I officially coined that phrase just now my only regret is a lack of drunk postings. So it's hung over postings for me.

Please dim the lights and fix daddy a Bloody Mary :smoking:

Haha last time I pulled a Roshan was my graduation party a couple weeks ago. I would have probably been making drunk posts but they tell me I dropped my phone, it fell apart and I put the cover back on the screen side so I just kept flipping it over in my hand not able to figure out where the screen went.

Been a while since I pulled a Roshan. I never posted anything while drunk, but have sent the wife a few naughty texts.

Anyone interested in buying some stuff. I'm unloading for the move in a few months. And I'm not expecting to be detailing other people's cars too much unfortunately :/
