fully ported blower
NW 102
squash duel pump fuel system.
LPE cold air
Coan 3000 rpm stall
10% LPE lower pulley, 2.38 upper pulley the car is making a solid 15.5 pounds of boost according to HP tuner log...
blower speed is at maximum safe level 25,000 rpm at 6500 rpm..
comanded shift points are being kept to 6300 and 6400 rpm.
weld 20" rts wheels 10.5 rear and 7" in front.
M/T 305 20s in back and 235 Perellis in front.

the car is going up to get some testing done maybe as early as this weekend. It finally feels fast.. the car has never really felt fast to me, which I contribute to the weight and the very stable chassis.. Now it feels fast..

Hell Yeeaaahhhh :headbang: now that's how all ZL1's should sound, I love it

drayco513 05-23-2013 05:17 PM

there is a girl in my area that has a zl1 , shes a model. just now getting into drag racing . she got a mec. gullwing too that she has been racing . but got a zl1 she ran a 10.6 her first time out. but her family dont want to go any faster till she gets use to it more. so u should have some competition when she turns it up. but thats what the zl1 should be like .
nice car btw.

Rdunn 05-23-2013 05:38 PM

i think he is referring to the rick from livernois 9.8 sec car which is sitting in the number one spot on the ZL1 list.

The Baron 05-23-2013 09:20 PM

Yes..

Sounds like a neat ride:w00t: What compression ratio are you using? I think your blower will be spinning more like 22,500 at 6500 engine rpm unless my math is wrong.

The Baron 05-24-2013 01:02 AM

Your math is wrong at least according to all the pulkey charts.. if it was a 2.55 maybe. But its a 2.38. With the 11 cc dish its about 10.1

This chart is one of a couple out there.. I have a 9.10 lower and a 2.38 upper..

The motor made 15#s with just the upper before. I was thinking it was going to be about 17 but I guess the new heads and cam are flowing some air.

Ahhhh.... Didn't realize the LSA had a larger than stock LS crank pulley to start with. I was figuring 7.5 + 10% = 8.25. Do all the accessories have larger than stock pulleys? Or is this 9.1" pulley just driving the blower? Lots for me to learn about theses motors. Cam specs? Sounds like yours is going to be one spicy meatball:happy0180:

Isnt the zl1 blower only a 1.9L? I thought people were struggling to make 15lbs on a 2.3L?

The Baron 05-24-2013 08:03 PM

Some people are having issues with getting this much boost.a heat exchanger isnt enough to get inlet temos down at this level either.. the meth is the key..
I am very familiar with these blowers and am spinning it pretty high, but I am monitering the bearings very closely.. 25, 000 is absolute limit if you don't want to eat itself very quickly. . On no timing it is seems to still ne making power.. I want to creep up on it.

The pulley system for the blower on the ZL1 is much different than when you slap a 2300 on a LS3. Belt slip is what kills my boost.

Good luck B!!:headbang:

The Baron 05-24-2013 09:17 PM

24, 600 rpm or so at comanded shift point.. no belt slip..well, no dusr..lol

I would've thought it would happen before this. That was a year ago and the car was 2 weeks old with 200 miles...

Rick
