Riding On Air

Just installed the airlift air suspension on my car. It rides great and I love it. Worked all through the night to unveil it at a local camaro car show, unfortunately I didnt have enough time to get my wheels finished so I had to rock the winter set. Once I get the wheels back on it will set it off even better I think

How much did the air ride run you if you dont mind me asking? (PM me if you want) I had Airlift on my tC and loved it. The looks you get from your car being on the ground is awesome.

I love the kit, the Autopilot is awesome. Install was very easy, did it all by myself in 12 hours. Couldn't be happier. I have airride on my s10, so it was only fitting to make the car match lol

How is the ride?

JCO2185 10-02-2013 07:58 AM

it is actually very smooth at the ride height I have it set at. But if I am ever on a rough road or need to go over speed bumps, I can air it up at the push of a button

alv927 10-02-2013 10:37 AM

What brand if you don't mind me asking and is it bolt on or did u cut some stuff

JCO2185 10-02-2013 10:59 AM

It is the Airlift digital kit. Front was all bolt on, Rear was 95% bolt on. I had to make two small cuts on the rear spring pockets for clearance around the mounting plate for the strut. Other then that it was very simple and easy to install. I did it by myself in my garage in about 10 hours.

that looks awesome! i want to do this next

do you actually drive the car on the street at this ride height? How many miles have you put on your car since installing the air ride suspension? Any issues with your rear axles breaking?

car looks great by the way!!

I love air rides, been wanting to install it on my car but hesitate whether my 22" wheels would have clearance if something were to happen to an air bag. But it looks great on your car! Love that you made it match with the s10! I'm building my '72 Jimmy to match and show next to my car.

kevinw 11-02-2013 09:05 PM

can you make the car bounce up and down like the 63 chevys on the MTV videos or make it go on 2 wheels? lol

blackTT600 11-03-2013 09:03 AM

I want this sooooooooooooo BAD... buttt how does the car handle? that is the MOST important question in my mind? do you ever track your car? or drive VERY enthusiastically? and if so, how does the Sexy show car handle???

Yes I drive the car at that height, its my daily driver and no issues at all. No axles breaking. I have probably put a couple thousand miles on it since installing the kit

The guy I bought the kit from had 22's on his car and didn't have any issues, so you should be alright.

LOL no this isn't hydraulics. I run a high enough PSI where I could bounce the car if I wanted to, but the Airlift manifold uses small diameter airline. This causes a slow and smooth raise or drop of the car, not enough to "bounce" it.
