640 HP vs 650 HP GTR

I thought it would be a closer race :/

Would an ZL1 stand a better chance than this?!

BRAVO 2SS 06-23-2013 01:24 AM

Interesting!

Evil-Bee-NH 06-23-2013 01:26 AM

think there's a huge weight difference. not to mention the ss seemed asleep at the wheel but that Nissan had sumthin else going on to just downright blow off the line like that. Maybe i'm wrong but Nitro possibly?

cvp33 06-23-2013 01:29 AM

13.68 1/4 mile? That SS doesn't have anywhere near 640hp, not even 400.

Camaro_h 06-23-2013 01:45 AM

the SS seems more like a stock V6 with SS body.

I was thinking the same thing ?!?!

NYYFan325 06-23-2013 01:56 AM

Bolt on V6 vs GTR is more like it

MikeSVX 06-23-2013 01:58 AM

1. That looked a lot long then a 1/4 mile.
2. That was a crappy surface to run in. See how much the SS is bouncing when it's running alone?
3. Launch difference explained by AWD vs. wheel spin

lexlueger 06-23-2013 07:53 AM

You can hear the supercharger on the SS. This is what happens from a dig vs an all wheel drive car. A ZL1 would be decimated. Could the SS been better prepared, Yes. Ditch the 21/22 inch rims for starters.

DarkneSS 06-23-2013 08:07 AM

Giant heavy wheels + its a vert + no driver mod = no surprise here. If the owner was that dumb it probably had no where near 600 hp.

SUKXOST 06-23-2013 08:12 AM

agreed

motorhead 06-23-2013 08:54 AM

13.68 from a 640hp car. I call BS.

usafboy 06-23-2013 09:00 AM

At the end when it showed the winning times it stated GTR Cobb stage 2

rozay 06-23-2013 09:07 AM

The GTR is a tough car to beat really well worth the 90k.

I'll take him.. With no problem... :first: With street tires...

The GTR is quick but has no staying power... 1/4 mile is his, but I'll go by him so fast at the 1/3 mile I'lll suck his headlights out as I go by...

With race tires, ill probably show him tail lights the whole way... If he can see that far down track...

Not too unbelieveable. If you looked it seemed like he had 21s-22s with a little tire on that car. Probably has a maggie and he's blowing off the tires 1st and 2nd into 3rd. I know I can with my centri.

If he had a proper tire I think it would have been different.

Yup... He finished the mile at 300 kph, or about 180 mph...

The last time I was at the Texas mile, I was doing just over 180 mph between the 1/3 mile and the 1/2 mile... Should have gone around 220 that pass, and that was on boost alone, no spray... My last licensing level was a clean pass between 205 and 220. I blew up a turbo at 180+.

Any other comments... I can post video if you like...

SSE 4 2SS 06-23-2013 12:28 PM

Here's a few pics...and a video... Sorry about the video, it was done with a cell phone and flips around...

Not always. My 300C SRT8 "decimated" one at MIR. One of my favorite kills. Love GTR guys that talk shi+ before a run. Looked my car up and down and told me he'd take me out of the hole with his almighty AWD, but then offered that I may run him down after half track. Not only took him out of the hole, smoked him all the way. Claimed to be modded up, but at 11.50's, I think he wasted his money.

Your on another level with the mods though. There are GTRs out there that are more on your playing ground... this one is not.
