Camaro5 Fest IV: Updates! [6/27/13]

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We're happy to announce some final updates to our website and programming for August 1-3!! :clap2:

Firstly,

We'd like to bring your attention to the CamaroCross page on the Camaro5fest.net website. It is located within the "Fest Events" section of the website.

http://www.camaro5fest.net/camarocross/

If you intend on competing in the CamaroCross, please read all information located on this page carefully.

There is also a registration hyperlink on this page. ALL CAMAROCROSS PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED. This is most easily accomplished by using this feature of our website. CamaroCross is accessed by purchasing a driver's pass at the gate. Pre-registering does not require any payment.

Space is limited; first-come, first-served.

Any questions about registering for the CamaroCross, feel free to direct them to a moderator on Camaro5.com, or to info.camaro5fest@gmail.com.

Secondly,

We've updated the General Info section of the website to display the cost of the event. We're pleased to say that entry for the Camaro5 Fest IV will stay the same as all the years before:

Spectators: $20/ 2 day pass
Drivers: $100/ 2 day pass.

http://www.camaro5fest.net/index.php...d=46&Itemid=59

Thirdly,

There's new information on the Drag Racing rules and procedures. You can find those details (such as helmet requirements, competitive classes, etc) by clicking on "Drag Racing" here:

http://www.camaro5fest.net/index.php...d=56&Itemid=67

Next Updates?: Stay tuned for next week's update, including special attractions courtesy of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, Rodger's Chevrolet, and Chevrolet themselves!

We are VERY excited about this year's show!! :D

Classes: Stock V-6, Stock V-8, Modified V-8, Supercar, Shop Car
o Stock V-6
o Stock V-8: CAI, and Catback allowed. (no headers or tunes)
o Modified V-8: Vehicles with tunes, moderate engine mods, suspension upgrades. Includes OE 1LE
o Supercar: You are automatically in this class with built motors, supercharger and or tires with a treadwear rating of 200 or less. Includes ZL1.
o Shop Car: Any non-street licensed or shop sponsored car
What is considered a "built motor" Would a cammed car be considered "built motor" or "moderate engine mods"?

I kind of take "moderate engine mods" as bolt on cars

while "built motor" would be any internal mods

I tend to agree with you that "built" = internal mods

Bring this to TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's the deal with driving your own car? Last year it was a sticking point.

And will they actually enforce tech? Plenty of fast cars running without cages last year.

ssmike 06-27-2013 02:39 PM

Has anyone noticed that the video doesn't play all the way through on you tube?

tpower 06-27-2013 05:45 PM

Man super car class is a little wide open

That's how it was last year. It was called unlimited. I think there was only maybe 50 cars. I think the fast 16 cutoff was 11.3

tpower 06-27-2013 06:05 PM

It was I ran with my street tires against real race cars never made the bump

RubyCamaro 06-27-2013 10:00 PM

So what about modified V6's? What about bracket racing? How "stock" does a "stock" V6 have to be??????????????? I will be VERY, VERY sad if Ruby can't race! And I want to see some of the supermodified V6's race too.

Ummm...
Last time I checked- MANY people who drag race run better tires than the PZeros. Many DD non racers have also change tires due to normal wear and have put better grip tires on.

Not sure the point of having a class that has spent hard earned money making moderate upgrades to limit them to a street tire.

I know my pzeros, although raced on them many times when stock- they would be worthless now.
I even run the stock rims , stock fronts, and entry level drag/better tires in back for True Street races- but they're 100- so I'm out I guess.
The gain from this set up is far less than a cam or SC.

So that means I race against the big dogs with SC. OK with me(do it now anyways), IF there is Brackets for sure.

Would have liked to race with cars more my level- much more fun with close proximity going down the track.

Lets line 'em biotch!:bellyroll:

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and tailgating in the evenings. Track festivities are a big plus too.

Whoops... sorry I haven't popped in here before now. Looks like the treadwear stuff may have been out of place on the website. Will correct that very soon.

The following may be a bit more descriptive.

Here are the 5 classes for both CamaroCross and Drags. Owner does not necessarily have to be the driver but the driver must have a paid wristband to run. Modified V6 cars will run with Stock V8. We only had about two of these cars last year. Basically no DRs for the C1 & C2 stock cars and anything goes for tires in the C3, 4 & 5 classes.

C1 = Stock V6: Any street licensed V6 5th Gen Camaro. CAI and/or Catback only, are allowed No Headers, tune, engine, brake, or suspension modifications. No under 200 treadwear tires or drag radials.

C2 = Stock V8: Any street licensed V8 5th Gen Camaro. CAI and/or Catback only, are allowed. No Headers, tune, engine, brake, or suspension modifications. No under 200 treadwear tires or drag radials.

C3 = Modified: Any naturally aspirated street licensed 5th Gen Camaro (no nitrous).
Includes 1LE for Drag Racing

C4 = Super Modified: Any force inducted street licensed IRS 5th Gen Camaro. Unlimited mods. Any driver
Includes 1LE, ZL1 and 2014 Z/28 for CamaroCross

C5 = Shop Car: Any Generation shop owned or non-street licensed car. Unlimited mods.

Thanks for the update on the tire treadwear-that the C3 class can run DR.
Please have the drag racing link/attachment above updated also.
Thanks

Looking forward to the show again.

Okay so I will have to run with the stock V8's. That'ss Okay. You stock V8's guys better look out. Ruby might just embarass a few of you. I know I won't win but I'll be happy if I lay down some good times & maybe beat a few V8's. I still wish you would run a bracket group. But either way, I'll be there & I'll be running as many runs as I can. I'm getting suspension upgrades done the day before the fest at Raymond's & I want to test it out well.

I'd race you for pink slips:headbang:
