Those exhaust tips look big. How big are they? (4", 4.5" or 5")

MasterZ 07-03-2009 11:47 AM

the tips are 4"

yes, this is the aggressive "S type" Part # 140280

you can read more about the install here:
http://www.z28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133702

I also have the before & after vid clip there as well.

NYCSRTATE 07-03-2009 11:51 AM

Cant go wrong with Borla, I went with Corsa on my ride but damn that sounds sweet!

MasterZ 07-03-2009 11:54 AM

I am looking for something just a tab bit more aggressive in loudness..but I am quite sure with headers/cam that will improve greatly too..

not to mention the exhaust is only 2 days old, so given time it should break in a bit more too..

radz28 07-03-2009 11:58 AM

Umm... GGRRR!!!

iwanttogofastNY 07-03-2009 02:12 PM

how loud is it in the cabin during driving, cruising and take off?

Indpowr 07-03-2009 02:17 PM

Borla is know for the "drone" around 1500 in Autos

2010SS6SPD 07-03-2009 05:13 PM

Sweet sounds good im going with borla as well Could you possibly get some vids from inside the car with some accelleration and take offs from out side the car. Thanks!!

MasterZ 07-03-2009 06:27 PM

i will try to get some videos here shortly..

there is some drone in the car, but not near as much like the 4th gens use to have. Take into account that the exhaust is at the rear and this car is a coupe with a trunk. So it takes care of alot of it..

Jeanius 07-03-2009 07:07 PM

hope they make an axle back, that way it will bolt up to some ARH headers

it goes all the way up to the cats, and yes it should bolt directly up to headers.

Mod007 07-04-2009 07:46 AM

Sounds nice!

From what I understand, ARH's system goes all the way to the axle, so I wouldnt need anything other than an axle back

Yup, but I think the vette's quad configuration is a tad DEEPER.

Major resonance's for the A6 guys, but for some reason the M6 is better able to avoid the "drone" between 15oo and 1600 RPM's.

I thought I saw a Borla S type axle back system from some vendor for right around $600. I'd go that route for sure.

Andro 07-04-2009 06:02 PM

Sweet
