Sup guys, im new to the group been a lurker since February finally decided to join. Im looking into buying a camaro soon, but have a question for the 1LE owners. Im looking into buying a 2014 1LE either black or white, heres my question, the camaro would be my DD is that something that would be smart buying a 1LE if im gonna be driving it everyday? Salesman at the dealer told me its more of a track car, and that im to young for the car lol. Thanks guys.

It has a tight ride but I think most of us here use it as our DD. I do and enjoy it

First welcome to the forum.
Second find a different dealer, any Camaro can be a daily driver. It all depends on what you want. Many use their Camaros as daily drivers and many use them only for weekends or pretty days. I don't have a 1LE but I do know operating costs will be higher for it. Mainly because of the price of gas and the tires. Remember also the tires do not do well in cold weather or snow, so a second set of wheels and tires may be necessary if you don't have a winter beater.
Just things to consider before buying.

Going from a V6 fourth gen to a 2014 1LE was a huge improvement in ride quality for me. It's my daily driver while I'm breaking it in and I couldn't be more comfortable in it. I have the Recaros and they are nice as well.

I DD my 2013 1LE and I love it. As stated above gas is a little expensive but you don't get a v8 if gas is your main concern. If my dealer had told me I was too young for my 1LE when is was trying to purchase I would've walked right out and gone elsewhere.

Mmar88 09-03-2013 01:46 PM

absolutely an amazing DD. the Z/28 probably not but the ride in the 1LE isnt bad at all

Thanks for the feedback guys.

DD a black beautiful 1LE. Don't settle....don't buy whats on the lot (thus the "track car" comment) order what you want, get the NPP!!! Recaro if you can swing it and if you do just remember to pull your seat belt out then down to avoid the leather friction burn....... then just drive

Enjoying the daily drive in my 1LE, I got caught in a absolute downpour of rain yesterday and the big front tires don't like heavy water on the road, otherwise a real blast to transform a boring drive into a fun drive.

Welcome. Chicago.....winter....and a 1LE may not be ideal. I would def get a beater for the winter and any significant amout of rain fall.

Or get a second set of wheels with winter tires. You cannot drive on the Goodyears under 20 degrees. They will crack.

Thanks fellas, your comments are real helpful. I do own a Chevy tahoe so that will be my winter beater. So I have that planed out already.

Cool, try contacting BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet through a PM on here. She is in Woodhaven Michigan, she will get you the best deal and arrange to have the car delivered right to you. Just tell her Angrybird sent ya!
I bought my car from her and I live in Tennessee.

Welcome to Camaro5!

My 1LE is a DD. Get what you want, not what a salesman says is for you.

Welcome. I've been DD'n mine for a whole 8 days now :happyanim:and couldn't be happier. but being in a cold climate like yourself, I do plan go getting a winter DD. I couldn't stand to see my 1LE covered in salt and grime in the winter months.
Keep us updated to what you get.:burnrubber:

zurk80 09-04-2013 01:19 PM

Welcome. I do not DD my 1LE, but thats by choice. Compared to my 4th gen it feels like driving a Cadillac. Will be no problem DDing even on the crappy Illinois roads. I would definitely think about some sort of paint protection though, unless you like rock chips. The wide sticky tires kick up everything.

I'm 19 and my 1LE is my daily driver, no problems whatsoever. It's an absolute joy to drive each day! Im not sure what your dealer is trying to do, but I think you should go for it, they are amazing! And the 14's are sharp!
