I get a 404 page not found error, and I can't find the article on the CompetitionPlus website. :iono:

Well that sucks.

Doz El Dude 09-10-2013 11:03 AM

Hope it doesn't happen.

bb040 09-10-2013 12:46 PM

I'm sure they will. Just a nuisance right now and this should finish it off. I hope to make this meeting on the 19th. Good news is our event is just a few days after the NHRA event which is 10X as big so we'll get news rather quickly. I hope.

Fox 26 Houston coverage from Sat 8/14/2013

Seems like there might be some potential conflict of interests due to the same type of business being one mile further down the road owned by the manager of RPR, Seth Angel. They have their permit so why wouldn't HPP be able to get theirs? I would doubt very seriously that HPP will move the location of their pile or change anything to do with their operations. There is no current public incentive for HPP to motivate them to change anything about what they are currently doing or the way they are doing it.

Here is a link to the video of the news information that was on TV last night.

I watched Houston International Raceway which was an NHRA track that was on I45S near the Santa Fe exit disappear and saw the local Eastex Drag Raceway vanish. It does not look good for RPR....I really hope they find a way to co-exist.

How ironic. Great video.

There is always two sides of a story!!

mp51998 09-20-2013 05:26 AM

Did anyone attend the meeting last night? If so was there any resolution? I'm guessing we're waiting for the outcome before anymore Fest info is released.

PoorMansCamaro 09-20-2013 12:34 PM

Just read this.

http://www.khou.com/news/local/Popul...224509581.html

doesn't say anything really new, except for this:

Quote:

Officials with the TCEQ say they will rule on whether to grant the permit in the next 3-6 months.
Officials with the track say they have not canceled or rescheduled any races yet.

so I guess we have to way 3 to 6 months. :iono:

ssmike 09-20-2013 03:05 PM

Yea, and the Fest is only 8 months away. Makes it tough to plan the Fest not knowing if they're gonna pull the plug or not! Maybe we need to start looking for a different venue! No hotel nearby and a venue that might close.... Not good!

How about a Spring time Fest in Florida?

The side trip possibilities would be awesome.

I've loved the Indy Fests, would go back there in a heartbeat.

Florida sounds good, but I don't care where it is as long as they plan it during the summer instead of spring. Too hard for families to make a trip of it during the school year. It's already such a sausage fest that you should make sure families and hot wives can come for some eye candy.

rich3fan 09-26-2013 08:31 PM

You want to come down here to Texas in August? Okay. :der:

SSeniorMoment 09-26-2013 08:35 PM

We were/are looking forward to Baytown, Florida is a no go for us.

That does sound good. Even going back to SGMP would be nice.

But we do have a great side trip possibility this year.

The weekend before the fest is NRHA Spring Nationals..

To keep the thread on track, here's a little video from the TECQ public hearing. The guy responsible for approving the permit could not back up their methods at all. He stumbled hard many times and even tried to pass the mic to someone else at one point. These guys had never even visited the site before.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/image....2&type=profile I know that a lot of people were excited about the event being held in Texas so was I. But time is running out if they can't come to a decision why not have it some where else. Carolina has many tracks and if not their what about back to Valdosta where the event first began

PoorMansCamaro 10-02-2013 06:34 AM

There's more than 1 track in texas...

mlee 10-02-2013 07:26 AM

It's not closing... this permit thing will be another year before approved anyway.
