Stock vs. HTR600 427 dyno numbers!

We just finished a few of our HTR600 427 conversions for DeNooyer Chevrolet in Albany NY.

Since I have 3300 miles on my personal car (with a mild cam/header setup) I have a pretty good feel of the car overall. The car with this 427 package is exactly how the car should have felt from GM!

The stocker can't even spin the tires in first and this thing shreads the tires in 2nd! Drivability is like stock. On the highway 4th and 5th gear pull real hard. This again is a mild version. The bigger version is going in my personal car for testing in the next couple weeks!

you sure your doin it right?

i mean the LS7 is cool and all but your only getting another 150hp or so out of a full engine swap.

you can do that with a bolt on super, or a cai, cam and an exhaust upgrade (almost). maybe its in being able to say my engine is bigger then yours.

We currently offer both packages. A 427 HTR600 version and an HTR S/C version. Some people will want the LS7 engine and some will want the Magnuson. In both cases we have it covered. You also have to remember it has a warranty. As well as being backed by a Chevrolet Dealership. Howard at Redline as we all know has the capabilities of building more "wild" versions but obviously those will cost the customer more money. These cars will be priced in the high 50's to low 60's. I think you will agree for that type of performance it is a good value LS7 or Supercharged LS3. Appreciate the post Bolteon593

For starters the power under the curve the larger motor makes, as well as the faster reving LS7 capability is significant over the stock car and one with bolt ons. This is not a make as much as possible option on the milder performance builds. We can easily make 570-600 RWHP with the LS7 but there will be drivability characteristics that many may not like....again we don't always know who is buying the car! We have also found that the mild supercharger setup vs. the 427 have there strengths and weakness. Top end the 427 pulls much harder. Mid range they are close and down low the supercharger is stronger.

You also have to realize that a thumping 427 brings back some strong memories to many that lived the late 60's. Obviously there must be some interest as the phone hasn't stop ringing!

Got to love options!

I would recommend contacting Dan via phone or e-mail for that information. He is typically easy to get a hold of.

What kind of work can be expected from the company doing the install?

CGM2SSRS 08-17-2009 07:03 PM

My concern here would be the weight differential with LS7? Any more added weight up front is going to contribute to an existing,"push"
Not conducive to road course driving.

TD or Not TD 08-17-2009 07:43 PM

I'm more worried of the workmanship

DeNooyerPerformance 08-17-2009 09:16 PM

Workmanship is not a problem. That is for sure. Do a little research on Redline Motorsports and I think you will see that they are top notch. Besides that DeNooyer Chevrolet is backing it with a 3YR/36,000 mile powertrain warranty. Not many modifiers offer that. DeNooyer Chevrolet has been in business 36 years. Have no fear. The car also handles great. The weight between the LS3 and the LS7 is almost the same.. 7.0L 440 pounds and the LS3 415 . But if someone is going to road race it or track day it we have a coil over suspension system from Australia that is available. This car was built to be a great all around car and is streetable. Also look at our Ebay rating it is 100% and we have sold many modified vehicles so far and never had an issue. Appreciate the questions.
