How much would the Z28 have to cost for you to buy it?

Just wondering how much people here are willing to spend on the Z28 if it actually comes out (without dealer rip-offs). I remember being blown away at how cheap the SS was when it came out. I honestly expected it to be $40k or more. Hopefully Chevy will surprise us (in a good way) again.

I think you'll be surprised at the price...and not in a good way!

I think the BASE model price should be about 48K

ShnOmac 09-24-2009 01:54 PM

I think it really depends on what the Z/28 is.... We really dont have enough info about the car so everything is a wild guess!

cliffy 09-24-2009 01:55 PM

Anything over the GT500 price and I think they will be treadin on thin ice

I believe the Z28 will not exceed the price of a CTS-V. If it does, then GM just fumbled the ball!

If it does I will walk away in disgust..... and I love GM

I say 44 to 46, I base it on the Corvette runs 48 to 49 new so the article said the price would be below the Vette.

:word: Many 2010 GT500 buyers are getting theirs below MSRP already. Not a good sign.

BoostedX2 09-24-2009 03:03 PM

Here is the real deal. If the Z/28 is a regular production car like the SS, we can get it for MSRP minus any kind of discount (supplier, military, USAA, etc). If its a limited production model, i.e., only X amount will be built, then the dealers will add a market adfjustment to the price. This is according to Reliable Chevrolet in Dallas...

I don't see GM making any money on a limited production though. Dealers will, but not GM.

Lets hope they ramp up LSA production so they can build as many as the market will demand, and make the money on volume!!!

DarricSS 09-24-2009 03:16 PM

45K

Will have less options than available on the SS but will have better suspension and an LSA.

35K, Bought Challenger yesterday because of the lifetime power train warranty and the awesome computer system. Still can't believe I did it

tjbusa 09-24-2009 06:19 PM

Back to the topic, I say 6K more than a SS

LSXgirl 09-24-2009 06:26 PM

Less than $49k.

You are forgetting the C7 will start being buit in 2012 and will go up in price point.

Mr. Wyndham 09-24-2009 08:43 PM

I would buy it at any price up to about $50 grand MSRP.

But I think they're going to come in closer to 45-47k to directly compete with the GT500.

:word: I agree completely.

solo40oz 09-24-2009 09:08 PM

I've said it before...and don't think I'm nuts...but an interesting marketing strategy would be to release in 2012...call it the 45th anniversary edition z28...and sell it for $45k
