A10 in a 5th Gen?

Has anyone done this swap yet?

I am curious for down the road........ I love the gearing in the newer ones, my A6 only has 33K miles on it.....

I am just curious if anyone has looked into this or has anyone successfuly swapped an A10 into a 5th gen Zl1

A few issues. Will an LT based trans bolt up to a LS engine? How will the TCM integrate with the LS system?

I’d think if it could bolt up you’d likely have to go stand alone to get everything to communicate

If it’s possible I am definitely interested!

I dont see why not.

The new RST Tahoe somes with the new 10L80 10-speed automatic, and its backed up with our LS3.

I would seriously consider this if possible.

I'm not saying it is or is not possible but just to clarify the RST Tahoe does NOT have a LS3. That would be a version of the LT1, new generation direct injected. Ya know, the generation that includes the new ten speed.

My concern would be how the trans and engine line up and bell housing bolt pattern. Are they the same, are they different? I don't know. Hence, my original comment.

The hardest part will be communicating with the CAN bus... There are at least two threads on this.

You might check with Andy at Livernois, they stay at the for front on a lot of stuff like this.

I have an A10 crate trans in stock along with the controller package I will pull the instructions and see if there is anything in there about mating to an E-38 or E67

Yes they bolt up but it is a bigger trans so I don't know how it would fit in the tunnel.

Obviously shorter driveshaft and fabricated trans mount.

Bad news guys

THIS TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A SERVICE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION FOR ANY PRODUCTION VEHICLE. THIS TRANSMISSION IS
FOR A CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE "LT" STYLE CRATE ENGINE USING A CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM. IT WILL NOT
FUNCTION WITH A "LS" STYLE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM, NOR ATTACH CORRECTLY TO ANY ENGINE EXCEPT AN "LT" STYLE. EACH CONTROLLER IS
MATCHED TO THE TRANSMISSION AND NOT INTERCHANGEABLE WITH ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. EACH SOLENOID WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION IS
CHARACTERISED AND THAT INFORMATION IS LOADED IN TO THE CONTROLLER.

Hey Ted, is there any EFI systems on the market that can control a 10 speed in general other than from GM?
