Nice, you pay $10K for the right to buy a Camaro for 1000 below MSRP. Awesome, sign me up! :bonk:

Bumble Bee '77 07-28-2008 01:05 AM

I have a bridge for sale....your not buying the bridge, your buying "THE RIGHT" to buy the bridge. funny how people can buy things that havent even been priced yet. Wont be at all surprised if the winner never sees his car or this supposed contract.

pinkcamaro10 07-28-2008 01:08 AM

wow 9 people actually bid. lol

Iroczlover 07-28-2008 01:12 AM

no matter what this is a scam, hes not going to be out anything & hes going to be 9k or more richer.

lafountain 07-28-2008 01:44 AM

Things like this are really annoying to see on ebay. Just like seeing some dealers sell off new cars that aren't released and they are auctioning how much over MSRP you will pay, and I have seen some of those go for 50k, which is just ridiculous.

MikeT 07-28-2008 01:47 AM

Absolutely unbelievable that anyone would be dumb enough to bid on this deal. There really is a sucker born every minute...

A lot of these bidders are wealthy people that live in other countries and have no way to get a Camaro any other way at launch. That is why the prices can sky-rocket for these e-bay auctions and they are legit..

TAG UR IT 07-28-2008 02:30 AM

I am going to email the dealer and seller telling him how sad it is he's doing this.

Camaro68 07-28-2008 04:03 AM

scam

Your right Tag we should.

wlvrine 07-28-2008 06:14 AM

Just seems like an opportunity to take advantage of people.
What a douche!

Moose 07-28-2008 09:20 AM

The STUPIDITY of some people. :(

greenrail 07-28-2008 09:47 AM

Remember what P.T. Barnum siad...."There's a sucker born every minute!"

Bowtie Guy Z28 07-28-2008 09:55 AM

That really is too bad.

CamaroScotty 07-28-2008 10:08 AM

If they'd only read the forums.....On a BRIGHT note.....Most of those bidders don't actually come through.

Silverghost 07-28-2008 11:06 AM

Anyone Notice when his "Contract" with the dealership was written?

Looks to me like is says August of 2006. I wonder if this sals person is still employed with the same dealership still. Also Edwards’s phone # is listed on the order form for anyone at GM that might be interested in speaking to the man; maybe they could persuade him to end this nonsense

CamaroScotty 07-28-2008 11:24 AM

If he's a customer at the dealership, not much can be done...But people can call this dealership and inform them of what he's doing with the car....without an order number with his name on it IN HAND - He has NOTHING to sell.

Txturbo 07-28-2008 11:32 AM

I see several things wrong with that "contract". He says sticker price but the contract says MSRP(sticker). It should have said "factory MSRP". The way thats worded, the dealer can add a "market value adjustment" to the sticker. The contract also says you have to place an order, so you won't be getting the first one from that dealership unless the dealership is going to let you choose what you want when they place the initial allotment order. Not sure if the dealers get to order before the public or not.

CamaroScotty 07-28-2008 11:56 AM

The ebay rules are a little FUZZY on offering something that really isn't "in hand".....It will be interesting to see if this auction makes it to the close date...

LeMansBlueCamaro 07-28-2008 01:20 PM

I smell a scam

Chevyrocker 07-28-2008 01:36 PM

GM ain't going to touch a private party. He's selling something he doesn't have.

4thGen 07-28-2008 04:08 PM

Notice he's using the words "sticker price", not MSRP. For all we know, the sticker price might be $60,000.

65bus 07-28-2008 06:48 PM

This Crap really ticks me off if youve got one doing it, tomorrow theyll be 30 and before you know it were all gonna be waiting a yr to get one because of supply and demand. It really pisses me off these people take adantage of a new product to make a buck when in the long run its gonna hurt GMs sells. Now well see markups of 5-10000 on the stickers at first launch because word travels (hey these people are selling them for 10000 markup we cant get that) if this happens ill be so pissed, as if we havent waited for the Camaro long enough,
