Camaro Convertible in Warren, MI

4 Attachment(s)
Saw this parked infront of one of GM's buildings across from the Tech Center on 12 Mile Rd between Van Dyke Ave and Mound Rd. Was on my way to Kerby's Coney Island for lunch when I saw it parked - told my coworkers we had to turn around and stop so I could take pictures LOL. It's the first one I've seen here in Michigan but I've heard rumors of people seeing them around town already. I haven't been keeping up on Camaro spy shot news so I don't even know if these pics are really all that new. Figured I'd share either way, though.

Disclaimer: These are without a doubt pictures of a mule, not a production model. This is a test car! GM could not care less what it looks like, they only care about the mechanical aspects of it.

Here they are:

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sorry convert ruins it and tey could of done somethin better with the onstar antena

The_Blur 01-20-2010 10:53 PM

This is not necessarily production. I'm sure they'll smooth out that drop top and hide at least 1 of those antennas.

Oh jeff you know that's a test car. Not everything is production. I assume that we will get the same production onstar antenna that is in the corvette convertible.

Agreed 100% - I'm going to edit my post after I post this. These pictures are definitely not of a production model. The facility that it was parked infront of was the same facility where they do mold tests for the Volt... pre-pre-production mules.

Jamison711 01-21-2010 04:15 AM

Thats terrible, 3rd brake light, antena, and hitch and all might be a test car but still they shoulda made the test car look better than that

They sometimes tow a small trailer with diagnostic equipment in it for testing.

Wash that Camaro

meissen 01-21-2010 07:54 AM

Tough crowd. Apparently you guys don't remember a couple years ago when the Camaro was pre-production? What you see is not what you get. The point of posting the pics was that "Hey - a convertible is really coming!" Be happy. Things will change, and things like the tow hitch are simply for the mules.

Exciting I cannot wait to see the production version in my garage :)

To quote Fbodfather.... Another panic dejour
Remember, keep the faith. This is a pre-production test car, that's still a year from production.

Xp0gam3r 01-21-2010 08:15 AM

This better not be their final decision model! I hope! >_<

MONTANACARGUY 01-21-2010 08:38 AM

Good spotting! nice work getting the photos. I hope you still got to eat lunch. We haven't seen any here in Montana yet. It was cool to see one.

tjbusa 01-21-2010 08:45 AM

But its still cool to see one

RSHugger 01-21-2010 09:50 AM

Need a smiley for NOT THE REAL TOP... Pre-production is working on many different things besides cosmetics... just think of what they had to do to the structure of the Vert with no roof to tie the car together? That changes the whole feel of the car... that is what they are probably testing and refining as well as the other mechanical issues... no need for the polished form now... that will come.
