Holy Crap. I can't find anyone who will install these damn things. I can't lift my car good enough and would feel better if someone who knew what they were doing would show me or just do it.

I've called around everywhere and most don't know what I'm talking about. :iono:

Some will ask for instructions and ask if it's a kit or something. :facepalm:

So I guess I'll just do it the best way I can. For those who have done it. Can I do it on jack stands? Or do the wheels need to come off?

Ok. Can't really see the difference. I guess because the befores were taken on a sunny day and the black makes it hard to see the gap in the afters but here you go for now. It's true, pics don't do this drop justice at all. Perfect drop in my opinion.

CAUTION.....:yikes:

The front sway bar may require lifting the engine to get it into place. You should be able to remove and install the rear bar pretty easily, Good Luck:thumbsup:

The sway bars arent' covered though. I wonder if this is why D1BADZ didn't do his front yet?

All the shops I talked to that said they'd look into it and call me back (which is only 3) never called back.

Are you sure about this? I have watched a few videos of these being installed and none required lifting the engine.

The more room underneath is better. You have to turn and twist the front sway to get old out & new in.

Be very careful on spring installation. Do not let them use air tools to install struts back on car. Hand tools only & torque wrench! You can over torque the nuts and break something. Also, be sure they don't spin the shock shaft, that can break the seal & cause shock to fail (been there).

You are going to LOVE the end results!

I decided to do them myself. I'll have to buy a torque wrench. :rolleyes:

local GM will install as accessories(a little cheaper), but still contemplating on putting them on myself(just need torque specs). just waiting for warmer weather and a free weekend..:rolleyes:

Call an auto repaiir shop, most will want the Labor only. More profit that way..

I did. Nobody seems to want to fool with it. Got tired of calling. A few said they'd look at what they need and never called back. I'm doing it today.

Heres a few performance shops in or around Mobile Alabama. Give them a call if you choose not to do the install yourself (I think you can handle it though). And also, don't forget, your local Chevy dealer will install springs in most cases. Just make good friends with the service manager.

Be carefull springs are very compressed and under a lot of pressure if they let go while working on they have enough power to do major major damage. Be sure your spring compressors are used properly and use extra care. You do not need to lift the engine to install the sway bars. I did not.You just need to take your time and work them in to place.

Ok. I'm kinda freaked out a little.

The top of the strut/spring assembly has about an 1/8 inch of play where they attach to the car and the bolts are tight. Am absolutely possitive it went back together the way it came apart. Any ideas?
