FlatoutProject: Camaro 2010 SS vs. Corvette C 6 epic film [Part 1]

As featured on Homepage.

Hello everybody !
As promised our epic roadtrip film is online now! We recommend to watch it in HD (just klick on 720 p).
In this Film we went to the US to take two 2010 Camaro SS and a Corvette C 6 for a roadtrip through americas west. See if three european gearheads are finally convinced by american engineering on famous roads like the historic route 66.
Keep in mind we are not overall serious!
Donīt forget, that we did not make an chevy ad. But please do not jump to a conclusion before watching all five parts. This film also about three europeans who were enclosed in a wall of of prejudice concerning american cars and using stereotypes. So it is more a roadtrip film than a straight review with scientific testing methods.

Nice vid...

I noticed that these were rental vehicles... Camaros from Avis and the C6 from Hertz perhaps... So I take it these were all automatic transmissions?

Chevy FTW!

Makes me feel better about my M6. I'm sure with some tuning those complaints they had can be fixed with the auto.

MJanowich 02-28-2010 11:35 PM

Good video. Thank you for your kind words at the end of part 5.

TAPshift works great. Even better w/ a tune. Personally, I think people really underestimate TAPshift.

Just finished watching all five parts - ich liebte der Film. Sehr netter Antrieb!

pacecar 03-01-2010 12:46 AM

if it didnt have camaros in it..... i would have poked out my eyeballs and chopped off my ears after 3 minutes -- ouch!!

chopss 03-01-2010 01:39 AM

im in the same boat as Pacecar.
I actually couldn't watch the whole 1st vid.

croyal1974 03-01-2010 04:47 AM

ive only driven my m6, but did the 2nd camaro take a while to shift? and it also seems like they didnt pounce off the line like im used to? maybe im just used to my car after headers exhaust and tune and cant remember what it was like before

croyal1974 03-01-2010 05:50 AM

Final impressions: the Germans adequately represented the cars, but id like to see what they have to say behind the wheel of an m6. im glad they enjoyed our cars and our roads(even though most of us dont follow the posted speed). suffice to say, id love to take my baby to the autobahn if i didnt have to front the bill.

Not bad. They are right on the shifting for autos. Had the same problem with my c-5 vette. I don't seen to have that problem with the 6-speed cam.

BackinBlackSS/RS 03-01-2010 04:55 PM

Very nice job. I enjoyed that.

Doubt he watched all 5 parts. If he did he would see that the guy "bashing" the vette also said he fell in love with it at the end.

The only bashing about all 3 cars was the electronics and auto. They said over and over again that european makers can learn a lot from us. They praised all three cars over and over again, minus the two bad points. :iono:

Many thanks for for watching!
And even more to them who liked our film
we really appreciate that!!

**** TAPshift dude. Ever noticed the delay? I'm not talking about the tuned automatics.

I test drove an L99 and used the tapshift, it confirmed that I wanted an LS3. Its not anything like the porsches tiptronic button shifters, but what can you expect the porsche is like 3x more

Don't get me wrong, I still like my automatic. Plus you can never miss a gear and that's one of the advantages. I will get my car tuned in the near future though.
