2011 Camaro to begin sales in Germany in Spring 2011

The Camaro will finally be introduced into the German market, home of the fabled Nurburgring track where the Camaro was often spotted in testing during its preproduction phase.

The Camaro will enter the German market as a 2011 model year, and is expected to have its official introduction at the AMI in Leipzig in the spring of 2011. No performance #'s have been released yet for the Germany Camaro version, nor has as pricing information. However, independent auto importers have been importing Camaros into Germany for approximately 40,000 - 50,000 Euros.

Congrats to our German members, as you will soon have your shot at owning your own version of our beloved 5th Gen Camaro! Source: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de

My parents live in the Netherlands, according to my dad (quite the gearhead) there were rumors about a 4cyl and a 3.0 6 cyl line up. Have no clue how accurate those rumors are.

That's awesome!! I'm not paying the Euro price though. That's way too much when you convert it back to dollars. I'll wait until I get back to the states.

Awesome. Hopefully it will be a success!

If so then I import my V8 from the USA

The linked article mentions that they will offer the V8 from the beginning while the V6 will become available later on. They do not mention other engines, although I could imagine smaller turbocharged ones, because the average European is pretty frightened by large-displacement engines....

In any case, prices will most probably be rather high (look at how much the Corvette costs in Europe compared to the USA) and I for one don't like rear amber turn signals.

Only way to go for me is get my 2SS/RS in the USA. :headbang:

They're expensive in Australia because they're required by law to be converted to have the driver on the right. Can't drive any unconverted American-style car there unless it's 24 years old or more.

They will do very well in Germany. Fast, small, and efficient.

SZOTSTA24 03-25-2010 05:11 PM

Good. The Camaro is now a world-wide name

Hm... Driving an SS down the autobahn...

be interesting to see what the german tuning and aftermarket world starts making for the camaro

Dinky Toy 03-25-2010 06:32 PM

So, we are finally going to have a Camaro version of this commercial!?!

Maybe the Camaro guy can state he was hungry for a schnitzel and his Camaro wanted to be the true to its name; "a small vicious animal that eats mustangs"...

I wonder what the adjustemts will be... I would guess the suspension will be adjusted (a bit stiffer).

Luttinger 03-26-2010 02:50 AM

To late... I have already one. :chevy::w00t:

I assume a pricing of more than 50.000 € (approx. 67 k$). This would be the way they did it with the Challenger (up to 55 k€).
I'm also waiting on news which additional setup the "German" Cam would have.

If you're interested, there's corvette/hummer/Camaro private retailer selling 2SS for 72K EUR!!!! No kidding!!

I just hope they won't officially sell the Z28 in Europe.
