Lambo Doors

I'm thinking about getting lambo doors on mine, do you think that will affect my warranty?

headpunter 10-03-2008 07:14 PM

i wouldn't see that causing to much warranty problems.you only loose warranty on things that you change so i cant see much that could go wrong that that would effect.

To long:didn't read: No effect

haulass350 10-03-2008 07:19 PM

IMO do not put lambo doors on ANY muscle car it makes the car look ricey

headpunter 10-03-2008 07:21 PM

its his car he can do what ever he wants....done well it could be cool, done poorly it will look awful but its all his choice.

DntWrryBeHappy21 10-03-2008 07:23 PM

I agree with HP if he does em right sure why not...it only looks ricey on the cars with big ugly bodykits...if he keeps his clean (meaning no random big ass bumpers) don't see why not

um i guess if its a Performance car like the camaro it might look good :iono:

i just dont like the look of them to flashy for me

btw how much would it cost?

quanine10 10-03-2008 07:28 PM

On an epic car such as the camaro and the price I will be playing I have no choice but to do it right. I am definitely not a fan of big body kits, no kits for me!

heres a good question for you?
how tall are you?
cuz theres a chance you may hit the bottom right edge of the door while getting out if you do this. the camaro does have a long door.
im 6', and ive done this before getting out of a friends 3rd gen with lambo doors. its not fun.

quanine10 10-03-2008 08:24 PM

good point I'm 6'2 but before I do anything I have to do the research and purchase the car!

There is no such thing as a classy vertical door kit. The fact that the hinge must open both out and up means that it will wobble when open, especially with a coupe with big heavy doors. It's great seeing wobbly doors flying in the air on an SL55. And by great, I mean really tacky. The reason the doors work well on the Countach, Diablo, and Murcielago is because they're designed to lower right onto the rockers and the hinge is mounted on top of the fender, not inside it. Statics demands that the location of the hinge on a normal opening door is NOT a good place to put a sturdy door hinge that is going to have forces placed on it on three axes. This is one of many reasons I will never put a vertical door kit on any car or have much respect for a car with one.

I think it might look kinda cool, honestly.
I saw a Mustang with Lambo-doors...and it was very eye-catching (not the bad way).

I certainly won't be doing it for various reasons, funding being one of them:rolleyes:. But if you do end up doing this, post up some pics!! :D

^That freaking picture is funny beyond words:laughabove:. But yeah. I think lambo doors are cool...a little played out but still cool. What does it for me is when people start putting features on cars that cost more than the car itself THAT is when I know I won't be doing it.

basscave 10-04-2008 01:26 AM

this massage goes for GM manufactur!!!!

they should have an option for costom lambo doors!!
if they have many options for diffrent packages, why not add lambo door option?!!!!

That looks like they broke a hinge driving with the door open. Fugly.

However, it will make mine look even better stock! :D
