Yeahyouknwit 10-10-2008 07:52 AM

where can we find thins information

Txturbo 10-10-2008 07:55 AM

through your dealer

Sizzox 10-10-2008 08:13 AM

Tell your dealer to log into chevylaunch.com with their Business Associate Code and go to 2010 camaro section then to the ditribution portion of the camaro main page. It tells them their production number.

:bs: It has nothing to do with Mustang sales. Allocation is based on 2002 Camaro sales.

I'm sorry, you are incorrect. It has nothing to do with 2002 Camaro sales.

2010 Camaro Production Guide

Below you will see your estimated Camaro production guide. It was developed based on two factors: (1) on your Chevrolet retail sales (both cars and trucks) over the twelve months ending August 2008; and (2) Mustang registrations for the twelve months ending June 2008 in your DMA.

Wouldn't it make sense if they are looking to see if you sold more Chevy's than Mustangs? Why would you reward a dealer that would sell more Mustangs with allocations of the Camaro? Just curious. :iono:

I dont understand it either if there are alot of mustangs in your area dont you think that just means that all the sales for a pony car are mostly gone?

Its not the dealers sales of mustangs, its the demographic of the area. If there are many people with mustangs in an area, the desire for these vehicles is higher. Going off of sales from 2002 would be very inaccurate, as both the types of people living in an area and the size and sales of dealerships may have changed dramatically.

Its a hard thing to gauge regional interest, but I think this is a decent way of going about it. We'll see how it plays out.

Keep in mind this is a guide number, or estimate. There is much more information on this early order cycle, but I don't have "authority" to post it up at this time. (nor do I want to be a dice roller)

Don't let it dissapoint you - this is just one step of many many more to come.

TX - that is a good number though. Glad a forum buddy got it!

I'm going off of an earlier fbodfather quote.

The information you are citing have to do with the overall production number, which is correct. Production is based on Mustang sales and previous modle year retail sales. Individual dealer allocation is based on that dealership's Camaro sales in 2002.

Acually it does!

CamaroScotty 10-10-2008 10:30 AM

Allocation was based on Chevy sales and the amount of registered Mustangs in a dealer's zone. Refer to the famed ordering guide.

Let's just all rejoice that we are this much closer to having our Camaros back on lots and more importantly on the roads and in our garages..........:drinking:

Its in a large city....don't want to tell until my order is complete. I'm waiting for them to get finished with the IDL stuff today.

Mr_Draco 10-10-2008 01:33 PM

Is the allocation the amount they will be able to order and get when the Camaro comes out in March? Reason I ask is that I was told sometime back that the allocation will be spread out over the 1st 6 months so if your dealer gets 25 cars and you are #21 then it will be Aug or Sept before they actually order your car.

JeanBond21 10-10-2008 04:08 PM

apparently my dealer is getting 67.....Classic Chevy in Grapevine, Tx. They're the biggest chevy dealer we have.

My dealer right behind you with 63 :fighting0040:

ChevaroSS 10-10-2008 10:21 PM

67!?!? 63?!?!? wow.. mine are getting like 12

littlecammi 10-10-2008 10:56 PM

From what I have read, these allocations cover from start of production in February through the third quarter (sometime around September), or for about six months. 12 cars equates to only two per month, while even 60 cars is still only 10 per month. And if they stick to the planned 70% V6 and only 30% (or less) SS production? The dealer allotted 60 Camaros will only get about 3 SS Camaros per month.

fireplug 10-10-2008 11:01 PM

100,000

With those kind of numbers - 100,000 units in a first year run sounds unlikely. Wasn't 100,000 GM's projection for year one?
