I'm not sure, but if I were to guess, I'd say that you'd need a new converter. You can definitely drive with the stock one in, but I'm not sure how the drivability is going to be.

Can't remove the dampener with the pump in. For future reference, you can slightly see the mark if you remove the oil pump cover and gears.
