More than likely your carbon fiber is clear coated. In that case, you can treat it exactly like the paint.

The more disturbing part of this to me is the discontinuation of the lifetime warranty. This tells me they've had way more failures than they expected and it's becoming too expensive. Not good.

The big ones that everyone uses are Opticoat and Cquartz. One I really like is Gtechniq ExoV2. All three are excellent products.

Plastic doesn't rust. And it's unlikely he has just ONE rust spot on his paint. It doesn't work like that.
