sure...maybe a quart or so in the sump. If I'm not mistaken, all dry sumps have some oil in the sump with the majority of the oil in the tank.

Read the directions as the thicker harder rubber rings go on the trunk closer area as the wickerbill adds weight to the trunk and it helps absorb this extra force. The foam rings are pretty useless...

I think changing the engine oil early is a good idea. It can't hurt to do it and could be potentially an issue if it is not.
