I have heard that GM does a lot of substitution...

I have heard that GM does a lot of substitution on cars when testing. For instance, they have substituted LS7's with added cam etc to emulate the horsepower of an LSA while testing other components....

You are right. Look, on the Z/28 GM "shed" over 300 lbs, got rid of all the creature comforts, gave it wild rotors and tires. Now, granted, its a great great N/A motor; Now.... look at the ZL1...

You are Spot On! Bullseye! In fact, it appears the Ceramic Rotors wouldn't even be needed on the ZL1 to run a 7:37. Just the Fatter Front Tires! And, no need to remove any creature comforts!
