easy trick....while the car is idling, take a can of intake/carb cleaner and spray gently near vacuum lines or intake area and see if the idle speed rises or surges. You can find any phantom air...

intake leak, vacuum leak, pcv...basically any...

intake leak, vacuum leak, pcv...basically any "phantom" air leak. Even an exhaust leak near the 02 sensor can do it.
