And cutting the tape with all the tiny pieces was actually fairly easy. The tape was applied to the back of the badge with some overhang. I used an exacto knife to trim it as the badge is metal....

I did the exact same with the side badges. Ground off the posts, smoothed it and used the 3M tape. It's a metal badge and so is also heavy, but it's been on for the past two years with issues.
