GM does not recommend it on the automatics. Otherwise, your source is wrong. I got mine in early autumn 2014, installed on a 2014 SS 1LE.

Motul is on the shelf waiting to go in. I am going to do the CTS-V/ZL1 brake upgrade also, and with the 1LE being lighter and less powerful than the ZL1, it may not be as hard on the brakes.
